The Captain

Newly renovated The Captain sits on top of Captain Hostel, with a premium location on the Bund. While the hostel in itself might not impress, the rooftop bar is really stylish and modern.

It is also quite affordable compared to other spots with the same location. Add some fantastic views of the river and the Pudong skyline and you understand that the Captain is well worth a visit.

Still not convinced? Well, then let's throw a Michelin chef preparing the food and a mixologist creating cocktails into the mix. The menu consists mainly of popular recipes and original cocktails with a modern twist.

All this can be enjoyed both inside and outside, and while the rooftop used to be more of a backpacker haven, the crowd is nowadays much more versatile. And also higher in numbers, which means that you should be in good time to catch a spot on the terrace.
