Our Story

ZAPFLER craft brewery is a German craft brewery and restaurant at Found 158 in Shanghai. Serving fresh home-brew craft beers, craft liquors distilled by brewmaster Dirk Frauenheim and delicious food. The menu rocks German classics and western favorites.

How a single home-brew grew into a multiple location craft brewery

On a hot summer day in 2013 brewmaster Dirk Frauenheim was craving a fresh craft beer like he used to drink back home in the German Black Forest region. Soon he started brewing his first batch of Floezlinger Special in the backyard of his healthcare factory.

The local government spotted the ZAPFLER founder brewing his own beer and offered a picturesque location in Jintan’s Jinsha park.
