Throughout his career he has graced countless Michelin-star restaurants - becoming head chef of Le Poussin in the UK aged just 21 – working alongside some of the great European chefs of our time such as Pierre Koffman, Nigel Goodwin,AlexAitken,KevinMangeolles and JuanMari Arzak. Classically trained, Brian has earned a reputation for putting together traditional cooking methods and highly creative
dish designs. A love affair with Asian spices brought Brian to Beijing in 2007, where he has since established himself as not just a leading talent in modern European cuisine but also as a restaurateur - owning, operating and managing over 40 restaurants and special events. He is the recipient of the coveted Five Star Diamond Award, a prestigious designation for the highest rating in hospitality possible. His signature restaurant Brian McKenna Courtyard – next to The Forbidden City in Beijing - opened to rave reviews in 2013 and continued to grow it’s impeccable reputation to diners both locally and internationally. With a list of clientele expanding to include, Bill Clinton, David & Victoria Beckham, Kobe Bryant, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Aaron Kwok amongst others. Brian’s currentgoals are now solely focused on his core company ‘Brian McKenna’ where he is developing his own simpler hospitality concepts. Upcoming projects include two new signature restaurants - Molly Malone’s Gastropub, opening in Autumn 2015, and BMK Kitchen: an eye-catching casual restaurant-bar concept opening in late 2015 / early 2016 in Sanlitun Village. Whether it’s inventing newsworthy food concepts entirely from scratch, building new restaurants, hosting celebrity weddings on private islands or planning huge luxury brand events – we strive to deliver a unique, memorable experience for our clients every time. Our steadfast commitment to the high standards we set for ourselves means that we are continually inspiring one another towards achieving operational excellence. Through Brian’s guidance and leadership, we continue to foster healthy relationships with everyone from suppliers and investors but above all, our guests.
