Integrating into Switzerland can be hard. Thankfully, we have a line up of Switzerland's best English language comedians to give you tips and tricks on how to survive, how to thrive, and how to pronounce Chuchichästli. DISCLAIMER: We will not be able to hand out passports. New to Switzerland/ local/ fully integrated, this show will have something for everyone.

In the first half we will feature a variety of local up-and-coming comedians and the second half will feature 1 headliner. For this show our headliner is local Basel legend Albert Louw, our Swissified South African!

Albert lives in Basel, but was born, bred, and broken in Johannesburg, South Africa. Albert is well traveled and is currently based in Basel where he is a staple of the comedy scene. Never a dull moment while he tries to fit into society and act like a normal person, bringing color to the comedy scene with his wild tales of his travels and bizarre habits. He is a hipster, a hippie and a hypocrite - but above all, he is very funny!

The show takes place October 19th at a really cool venue in Kleinbasel, the great Heimat Bar! The address is Erlenstrasse 59, 4058 Basel. Doors are at 19:30 and the show starts at 20:00.

All reservations are free and you can pay what you feel the show is worth after the show. We want to make this accessible to all and believe that once you’ve seen the show, you’ll be happy to pay for a ticket. Our suggested donation is 20CHF per entry, and that money will go towards paying the artists you see on the night. Tickets can be purchased in cash or TWINT.

The only thing more important than family is going to therapy because of your family. At this comedy show a line up of fantastic comedians, local and international, will share stories and home truths about everything very close to home. Come out for English comedy that is soul-bearing, from the heart, and- most importantly- hilariously funny.

In the first half we will feature a variety of local up-and-coming comedians and the second half will feature 1 headliner. The show will be hosted by local comedian Teddy Hall. For this show our headliner is Zürich-based comedian Chris Darwa.

When he's not locked down, this upbeat jokester has toured around Europe with Tony Law, as well as performing in the UK, America and his native Australia, while being a regular on the Swiss comedy scene. He thrills audiences with punch heavy anecdotes, pointed observations and brutal honesty.

Since 2013, Chris has worked as an actor, speaker for TEDx, writer for UK theater productions, contributor for online comedy shows, mindfulness course speaker, cult leader and yoga guru - in fact, the only thing Chris has ever shied away from is hard work and the occasional paternity test.

Wild and unapologetically hilarious standup comedy show by rising comedian Dima Watermelon. Living in 3 different countries and visiting over forty, Dima is no longer simply Ukrainian, but not quite European either. Stuck in this absurd cultural limbo, he finds laughter is his best coping mechanism.

😂 Expect witty jokes and ridiculous life stories about politics, Berlin techno clubs, Germans, emigration, online dating, nuclear war, in*******al relationships, shark attacks, and other significant subjects. No topic is off-limits or too soon.

Haitian comedian TJ is heading to Europe with his second hour of standup. Bringing his signature wit and conversational delivery on stage, he tackles his ongoing immigration journey in the United States, religion, languages, and why America might be near the end of its run as the world's most powerful empire. It's TJ's most insightful and funniest hour yet. It's not a show for the faint of heart, but if you love standup comedy, then you surely will love this show!

🌟 About TJ 🌟

TJ (Tanael Joachim) is a Haitian born stand-up comedian who is currently based in New York City. He has made appearances on Gotham Comedy Live (AXS TV) and Good Day New York (FOX5). TJ has a very laid back, smooth, and conversational style. He jokes about race, society’s idiosyncrasies, and the inherent contrast between life in Haiti and America.

TJ performs regularly at the Comedy Cellar, Gotham Comedy Club, and all the main clubs in NYC. He has opened for Janelle James, Colin Quinn, and Sean Patton. He has been a featured performer at the Netflix Is A Joke Fest. He's also performed at the Laughing Skull Festival, the Underground Festival, Rogue Island Comedy Festival. TJ is also an Op-Ed contributor for The New York Times. You can watch his special, JANUARY 3RD, on Amazon and listen to his album, SON OF HAITI, on all audio platforms.

Anna’s a Kiwi born, Melbourne raised, Berlin based standup comedian, writer and podcaster. Taking Cr****ie Curious to the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2023, she’s performed her solo in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Performing all over Europe, in London and Melbourne, she’s also written for Comedy Central DE and has the weekly podcast, Adults ONLY Comedy Berlin.

Her other credits include opening the Hamburg International Comedy Festival 2021, hosting for the Berlin New Standup Award 2022, opening for Luca Ravenna and Stefano Rapone in Italian in Berlin 2022, and for Ian Fidance in Berlin 2019.

She produces and hosts regular shows in Berlin including Pimp My Jokes, Doener Comedy, After Party Comedy, Adults ONLY Comedy Open Mics, Punch Up Comedy and Glory Hole Comedy.

The Comedy Open Mic at Heimat Basel

You had to be there… _ Make sure not to miss The Open Mic of Basel! An evening filled with laughter where new comedians and more experience ones share the stage. In the first half, each comedians will have 5 minutes to make you laugh. In the second half, more experienced comedian will be doing longer set. Make sure to reserve your free spot in the audience. The entry is free, you can give a donation at the exit. The doors open at 19h and the show starts at 20h. Are you as funny as your mom thinks you are? Write ‘’Spot’’ in the discussion section of the event to reserve one of the available spots. The selected comedians will be announced a few days before the event and will have 5 minutes each. More advance comedians can ask a 15-20 or 30 minutes spots for the second half (specify when asking for a spot).
