Morden Weight loss medication and Ancient Natural Ways to Lose Weight

Scientists have discovered that a naturally occurring hormone called Fibroblast growth factor 21 FGF21 can reverse obesity in mice by activating a previously unknown brain circuit. Unlike popular weight-loss drugs such as GLP-1 medications, which mainly reduce appetite, FGF21 helped the animals lose weight by increasing the amount of energy their bodies burned. The researchers also found that the hormone acts on a region of the brain called the hindbrain, revealing a completely different biological pathway for controlling body weight.
FGF21 is a hormone naturally produced by the liver during fasting and other metabolic changes. After reaching the brain, it activates specific nerve cells that increase energy expenditure rather than simply making animals eat less.

The clinical trials have shown that most weight is usually re-gained within one year of stopping treatment. If this happens in clinical practice, this would be demoralising, probably not a good use of money, and repeated cycles of weight loss and regain may also be harmful for health.

Our approach focuses on encouraging self-discipline, balanced nutrition, mindful eating, and a healthier relationship with food helping individuals work towards sustainable weight management through natural lifestyle practices.
In 1984, my brother, Dr Mosaraf Ali, and I have developed a distinctive approach to neck massage, focusing on the areas around the pathways of the carotid arteries. These important blood vessels supply blood and oxygen to the brain, supporting its vital functions.
Our approach also considers the relationship between the neck, the brain, and key regulatory structures such as the hypothalamus and pituitary gland, which play important roles in hormonal regulation and the body’s overall balance. Through our work, we aim to explore how gentle, carefully applied Ali’s Signature neck massage support relaxation, well being, and the body’s natural physiological processes. The hypothalamus is an area of the brain that plays an important role in the control of appetite and body weight, and when disturbed through disease processes, substantial weight gain is a relatively common result.

Our Signature Neck Massage goes beyond physical relaxation. Through our decades of observations, we have found that our approach may support the body’s natural regulatory systems, including those associated with the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. We believe this can help individuals develop greater awareness of their eating habits and make more disciplined choices, such as reducing their consumption of sugar, unhealthy foods, and harmful drinks.

As metabolism speeds up, the body burns more calories and stored fat to meet its energy needs. Because this pathway is separate from the one targeted through neck massage I believe the two approaches could potentially complement each other instead of competing.

FACIAL MUSCLES
The skin on the face is attached to the mimicry or expression muscles. Generally, the deeper part of the muscle is attached to bone or hard surface and the upper end to the underside of the skin (see diagram below).
These small muscles allow us to smile, frown and convey a wide range of emotions. Their contraction and dilation also keep the skin toned, and so massaging and exercising them is important in keeping your skin firm.

A six-minute facial massage
Give yourself this short massage two or three times a week, and before you go out and want to look your best. Unlike a body massage, this should be a series of gentle movements. Use a light oil as lubricator, to avoid dragging the skin - sweet almond oil is very suitable.
Massage along the direction of the muscle fibres and not across. This tones them better.

Massage the jaw muscles and then the temples (1 minute each) - a circular movement and then downwards. This relaxes the face.
Massage forehead, working upwards, with thumbs or fingers over the eyebrows (1 minute).
Massage the sides of the nose downwards with index fingers (30 seconds).
Massage gently around each eye in a circular fashion with your index finger (30 seconds).
Massage the area around the mouth, starting below the nose and encircling the mouth to the chin (30 seconds).
Massage downwards over chin area with four fingers (30 seconds).
Massage under the chin with four fingers, starting below the jawline and going down to the level of the voice box (30 seconds).
Massage the front of the neck from below the ear lobes, using alternate hands, and stroke downwards to the top of the chest (30 seconds).

ALMOND AND MINT FACE REFRESHER
An excellent once-a-week toner for your skin.
Soak 5 almonds for 24 hours, then peel and crush them. Mix the almonds with ¼ cucumber, finely chopped, and a few fresh mint leaves. Add a pinch of turmeric powder, about ¼ teaspoon of sandalwood powder (if available), 1½ tablespoons of chickpea (gram) flour and enough skimmed milk to make into a smooth paste.
Apply to your freshly cleaned face, rub in gently, then add some more (protect your hair and clothes with a towel). Lie back and rest for 30 minutes while the face pack dries. Clean off the paste gently with dampened tissues or cotton wool and rinse your face in warm water.

Nettle Soup: Stinging nettle leaves are packed with iron, vitamins, and minerals that help build blood and improve circulation. Simmer young nettle leaves into a simple green broth or vegetable soup.
Avoid Tannins: Do not drink black tea, coffee, or eat heavy dairy right next to your iron rich meal, as they block iron absorption

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease. The immune system, which normally protects the body from infections, mistakenly attacks the lining of the joints. This causes inflammation, pain, stiffness and, over time, potentially joint damage.

Why does it happen?

There isn’t one single cause. Usually several factors come together:

Genetic susceptibility certain genes make someone more likely to develop RA, but having those genes does not mean they will definitely get it.
Immune-system dysfunction the immune system becomes incorrectly activated against the body’s own tissues.
Environmental triggers smoking is one of the strongest known risk factors. Certain infections and other environmental exposures may also contribute.
Hormonal factors RA is considerably more common in women, suggesting that hormones may influence susceptibility.
Age and other factors RA can occur at any age but becomes more common with increasing age.

The important distinction is that RA is not simply caused by “wear and tear.” That is more characteristic of osteoarthritis. RA is primarily an inflammatory autoimmune condition.

I have developed a treatment approach that has provided significant relief from pain, stiffness and discomfort for people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

Back Pain Relief Tip

The psoas and iliacus muscles play a vital role in supporting the lower back, hips, and spine. When these muscles become tight or tense, they can contribute to lower back pain and reduced mobility.

Gentle massage and release of the psoas and iliacus muscles may help reduce muscle tension, improve flexibility, and relieve back discomfort. In many cases, addressing these deep hip flexor muscles can significantly ease lower back pain and improve movement.

The psoas muscle is a deep core muscle that connects your spine to your legs, acting as your main hip flexor and helping you walk, stand, and stabilize your lower back. There are two psoas muscles (one on each side of your body) running from the lower back and pelvis down to the top of the thigh bone.

Always seek assessment from a qualified healthcare professional, as back pain can have many different causes and treatment should be tailored to the individual.

Understanding the Shoulder Painful Arc: What Your Shoulder Is Trying to Tell You

Have you ever experienced shoulder pain only during a specific part of lifting your arm? This pattern is known as the Painful Arc, a valuable clinical sign that helps identify the source of shoulder pathology.

0°–45/60°: Usually Painless

The initial phase of shoulder abduction is generally comfortable because the humeral head has not yet entered the narrow subacromial space. During this stage, the supraspinatus initiates movement while the deltoid gradually increases its contribution.

60°–120°: Glenohumeral Painful Arc

Pain within this range often indicates pathology involving the glenohumeral joint or subacromial space. Common causes include rotator cuff tendinopathy, supraspinatus tears, subacromial bursitis, or shoulder impingement syndrome. As the arm elevates, the supraspinatus tendon and subacromial bursa pass beneath the acromion, where inflammation or structural narrowing can produce pain.

120°–170°: Usually Painless Again

Beyond 120°, the greater tuberosity clears the acromion, reducing compression of the subacromial tissues. Shoulder elevation is increasingly driven by coordinated scapulothoracic upward rotation, allowing smoother movement..

170°–180°: Acromioclavicular (AC) Joint Painful Arc

Pain near the end of shoulder elevation is more suggestive of acromioclavicular joint pathology, including AC joint arthritis, osteolysis, ligament injury, or post-traumatic degeneration. At maximal elevation, compressive forces across the AC joint are the greatest, reproducing symptoms.

Recognizing the location of pain during shoulder abduction helps clinicians differentiate between rotator cuff disorders, impingement syndrome, and AC joint pathology. Combined with a thorough physical examination and imaging when necessary, the painful arc remains a simple yet powerful tool in shoulder assessment.

How insulin resistance can affect men:

* Weight gain, especially around the belly High insulin levels can make it easier to store fat and harder to burn it.
* Lower testosterone levels Insulin resistance is associated with lower testosterone in some men, which can affect energy, muscle mass, and s*xual function.
* Low s*x drive (libido) – Reduced testosterone and poor metabolic health can contribute to this.
* Brain fog and fatigue Blood sugar fluctuations, poor sleep, obesity, and insulin resistance can all affect concentration and energy.
* Enlarged breast tissue (“man boobs”) Excess body fat can alter hormone balance and increase estrogen production, which may contribute to breast enlargement.

However, it is important to understand that not every man with belly fat, low libido, or brain fog has insulin resistance, and these symptoms can also be caused by:

* Stress
* Poor sleep
* Depression
* Low testosterone from other causes
* Thyroid problems
* Certain medications
* Aging

Common signs that may suggest insulin resistance include:

* Increased waist size
* Difficulty losing weight
* Fatigue after meals
* High blood pressure
* High triglycerides
* Prediabetes or type 2 diabetes
* Darkened skin patches around the neck or armpits.

Weight loss injections and severe side effects.

Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Constipation
Stomach pain
Bloating
Indigestion
Loss of appetite
Pancreatic infections
IBS

How have I treated these patients? My approach has been based on naturopathic principles and lifestyle modifications. Patients are placed on a carefully structured naturopathic diet designed to support digestive health and overall wellbeing.

One of the traditional practices I use involves drinking 3–4 glasses of fresh water in the morning on an empty stomach. After about 20 minutes, the individual may induce vomiting to help clear the stomach. This technique has roots in ancient Indian yogic cleansing practices that have been used for centuries as part of traditional wellness routines to support digestive health.

In addition, I use a specialised neck therapy known as Ali’s Signature Treatment. The aim of this treatment is to improve circulation and mobility in the neck area, supporting healthy blood flow to the brain. Since the brain continuously requires oxygen and glucose delivered through the bloodstream, maintaining good circulation is an important part of overall health and wellbeing.

Combined with dietary changes, lifestyle guidance, and individualised care, these approaches are intended to support the body’s natural healing processes and help patients recover from digestive discomfort and related health concerns.
