Manitoba will be entering the first phase of reopening on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 12:01 AM after meeting the Canada Day vaccination target early on the province’s reopening plan. ⠀
⠀
The new orders are set to expire on August 2, 2021, however the province may reopen earlier if vaccination goals are reached sooner, and the overall COVID-19 situation in the province continues to improve. ⠀
⠀
Under the new orders, outdoor gathering sizes on private property will increase to 10 people, and will allow visitors to briefly access homes for essential activities, such as using the washroom. ⠀
⠀
Public outdoor gathering sizes increase to 25 people. ⠀
⠀
Retail businesses will be able to increase capacity to 25 per cent, or 250 people, whichever is lower, with no restrictions on group shopping. ⠀
⠀
Personal service businesses, such as hair and nail salons, estheticians and barbers, can reopen at 50 per cent capacity on an appointment basis only. ⠀
⠀
Restaurants and bars can reopen at 25 per cent capacity indoors, and 50 per cent outdoors. For indoor dining, all people at a table must be from the same household unless everyone at the table is fully vaccinated. For outdoor dining, tables will be limited to a maximum of eight people, and people can be from different households, regardless of vaccination status. ⠀
⠀
Gyms and fitness facilities may reopen for individual and group fitness classes at 25 per cent capacity with three meters distance between patrons. ⠀
⠀
Outdoor weddings and funerals can take place with up to 25 participants in addition to the photographer and officiants. Indoor weddings and funerals remain limited to 10 people. ⠀
⠀
Movie theatres and casinos will remain closed.⠀
⠀
Large-scale, outdoor professional sports or performing arts events may also allow fully immunized Manitobans to attend, subject to approval by public health. The province will work with sports and arts organizations to implement proof of vaccination protocols for these events.⠀
⠀
The province plans to announce additional benefits to fully vaccinated Manitobans in July, based on continued vaccination rate increases and improvements in the province’s overall
