12welve Bistro Announces Sale of Business Assets and Conclusion of Operations After Nearly Seven Years
Whitby, Ontario — After nearly seven years of proudly serving the Whitby and Durham Region community, 12welve Bistro has made the difficult decision to sell its business assets and conclude operations effective Saturday, February 14, 2026.
This decision was not made lightly. Since opening our doors, 12welve Bistro has had the privilege of welcoming thousands on thousands of guests, celebrating milestones, hosting events and becoming part of the everyday lives of so many in the community. What began as a vision for a warm, welcoming and elevated dining experience became something far more meaningful because of the people who supported it.
“We are deeply grateful for the loyalty, trust, and support our guests and community have shown us over the years,” said John Allen, Owner of 12welve Bistro. “Most importantly, we want to thank every member of our team, past and present, whose passion, professionalism and dedication made 12welve what it was. This business was never just about food and service; it was about people, relationships, and creating a place where moments were shared.”
We also extend our sincere thanks to our suppliers, partners, entertainers and local organizations who helped shape the 12welve experience and supported us throughout this journey.
We would like to reassure the public that while the 12welve Bistro restaurant will be concluding operations, all events currently booked with Events on 12welve will proceed as planned. Event deposits will be honoured, and clients with upcoming events will be contacted directly by our Director of Sales.
As we approach our final days, we warmly invite anyone currently holding 12welve Bistro gift cards to make plans to join us and enjoy them before our final day of service.
As we close this chapter, we also want to remind everyone of the importance of continuing to support local businesses, especially independent restaurants, who work tirelessly to serve their communities. Your support truly matters and makes a meaningful difference.
While this chapter is coming to a close, the relationships, friendships and memories created at 12welve Bistro will always remain. We are incredibly proud of what was built together and profoundly thankful to everyone who played a role in our story.
We invite our guests, friends and community to join us in our final days as we celebrate nearly seven wonderful years and properly say goodbye.
