Then & Now at the Rosedeer Hotel, Wayne Alberta (~90 Years Apart). ➡️➡️
📸 The old image is thanks to the UofCalgary Archives. It's roughly dated mid-1930s and originally came from the Alberta Liquor Control Board. The image is not great, but some old cars can be seen on the right and it appears a couple people are hanging around the front door.
Our shot is from late 2025 and you'll see the building is little changed. This comparison was made while producing an installment of the Beer Parlour Project (available soon for this venue) at the famous Last Chance Saloon. This was shortly before they closed for the winter season.
Both shots were taken from the railway line - the last train about 2010. Go to the comments for another view of the Rosedeer Hotel/Last Chance Saloon taken early the next morning.
Enjoy!
