Meet Dolcita™

A hop as sweet as it’s name! Formerly grown under the cultivar name of HBC 1019, Dolcita delivers a pleasant mix of soft stone-fruit aromatics, tropical juiciness, citrus brightness, and creamy undertones, reminiscent of peach, pineapple, and orange. It’s uniquely expressive, fruit-forward, and beautifully balanced - perfect for brewers creating approachable, flavour-forward styles with wide appeal.

Dolcita’s name is a creative mash-up of “dolce” (sweet, Italian) and the diminutive “-ita” (little, Spanish), together meaning “sweet little darling,” “little sweetie,” or “sweetheart.”

We’re honoured to partner with independent breweries from every region of the country to launch Glorious & Free, A Trans-Canada Brewery Collaboration conceived by Ottawa’s Dominion City Brewing Co. with the goal of harnessing the power of local beer to build a stronger country at a hinge moment in Canada’s history.

Participating breweries include:

Breweries will make their own version of the Glorious & Free IPA recipe using 100% Canadian-sourced ingredients with a commitment to donating a portion of the net proceeds from every beer sold to a local, provincial or national not-for-profit or charitable organization, supporting at least one of the campaign’s core causes, which include:

Connection to Land and People - Organizations that support connections between people and/or our history and the traditions of those who came before us.
