For the dog guardians in the area, mark your calendar! The 4th Annual Bark-Or-Treat is back in Riverfront Park on Sunday, October 25th 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm. Reminder 🐶 on-leash only thank you! 🎃 costumes encouraged but not required!

Back by paw-pular demand - the 4th Annual community organized Bark-or-Treat event is happening for River District dogs (and friends) Sunday, Oct 25th from 1pm-3:30pm!

For those that wish to discuss issues and concerns that affect our riverfront community or in the City as a whole, heads up Pete Fry running for Mayor will be in Town Centre this Friday 4:00-7:00 pm with some other members of his party running in this municipal election. This Friday, October 9, Pete Fry and his Green team will be at River District Town Centre from 3-7pm to meet with local residents and hear what matters to our community.

Pete is running for Mayor of Vancouver with the Green Party of Vancouver, and this is an opportunity to hear directly from him about what he’s working towards for Vancouver, ask questions, and share your thoughts and concerns about issues like community amenities, transit, cost of living and more.

As most know there is a municipal election on Saturday, October 17th, but advance voting starts this Saturday, October 3rd. Having attended a number of political townhalls and other events, South and East Vancouver have finally made it to the political forefront. Many of those seeking election realize South and East Vancouver are lacking amenities and other services. Candidates have been listening to residents with a view to making a difference for South Vancouver. We’re creating a photo collage for the cover of the first-ever Pet Issue of River District Living magazine, and we want YOUR pets to be part of it! 🐕🐈‍⬛🐇🐹🐭🐍🐸🦜🐢🐠

All pets who live in South Vancouver or South Burnaby, or visit the River District, (including pets who have passed away) are welcome, multiple pet households can include all pets❤️

📅 DEADLINE: Midnight, Tuesday, September 29. Sorry we cannot accept submissions after the deadline.

Looking to do some research before voting at the upcoming civic election on October 17th? The City of Vancouver has a website listing all those running to represent you. This includes Council, Parks Board and School Trustees. This listing also includes the number each candidate was assigned on the ballot which is expected to be a long list. It also has links to their social media feeds which many have shared their policies and video clips presenting at various town halls around the City. Great opportunity to learn a bit more about those running in this election.
