IMPULSE is a showcase event that will bring together university-aged improvisers from across Canada and the United States. Local and travelling performers will be given 25 minutes to flex their improv muscles in front of an admiring UBC audience, and an opportunity to be coached one-on-one by Kirsten Rasmussen (Rapid Fire Theatre, Montreal Improv) a leading figure in Canada’s improv community. In addition to the four nights of great shows, IMPULSE organizers will be offering workshops for all experience levels during the run of the festival. All of this is what makes IMPULSE the largest celebration of university improv in Canada. UBCimprov was founded in 1999 and has been entertaining audiences with their brand of comedy ever since, making them favourites both on and off campus. UBCimprov alumni have gone on to perform with Vancouver Theatresports League, Instant Theatre, Ghost Jail Theatre, Pump Trolley Comedy, the Sunday Service, Rapid Fire Theatre, Second City and more.
