🍻We celebrated International Women’s Day, by brewing up our annual fan favourite - Big Jan Wears Pink Boots Hazy IPA!​

We brewed a punchy Hazy IPA, boasting bright citrus notes layered with tropical fruits, and slight pine character.​

Big Jan Wears Pink Boots Hazy IPA is available on tap at our Brewpub now and will be available to purchase in cans online and at our Brewpub starting Wednesday March 11th!

🍺SPB Crew Highlight - get to know our Head Brewer, Marc.
 
❓What’s one brewing decision most drinkers would never notice, but you obsess over?
⭐️Decoction mashing. It’s a technique where a portion of your mash is boiled, and then added back in with the rest of your mash to achieve your next mash step temperature. This is a process I love doing in some of our lagers and our hefeweizen, as I find it creates complexity and richer flavour in those styles of beers.
 
❓What’s one misconception people have about head brewers?
⭐️I have never brewed any heads
 
❓What keeps you excited about brewing after doing it every day?
⭐️The constant learning and research being done that helps us improve our processes, our knowledge and understanding, and our beer.
 
❓Which ingredient do you think doesn’t get enough credit?
⭐️Water. If Wu Tang Clan were brewers, the song would be W.R.E.A.M - ‘water rules everything around me.’ Making adjustments to your water chemistry can help replicate water from other cities around the world, thus dramatically changing the profile of your beer.
 
❓What’s the best compliment someone’s ever given you about a beer?
