At The Improv Centre, we’re celebrating the LGBTQIA2S+ community this month (and every month!)
From Alan Pavlakovic, Artistic Director:
“Pride is a celebration, a proof of resiliency, a riot, and it is with great (q***r) joy that we at The Improv Centre stand with the LGBTQIA2S+ community in solidarity. Q***r talent has always been at the forefront of change and innovation in the artistic world and we recognize its past, present, and future in what we do.
Celebrating Pride is more than just a series of parties and events, but a reaffirmation that we can be our authentic selves and foster a safe community with our families - chosen or otherwise. The Improv Centre is Proud to be part of this world through many of our performers and staff, and we wish everyone a beautiful Pride season this year!”
We believe improv is at its best when everyone feels welcomed and empowered to bring their full selves to the stage, and into our audience. Our community is stronger because of the LGBTQIA2S+ folks who make up our performers, staff, volunteers, students, and guests; and we pledge to keep upholding a space where everyone is safe to learn, grow, and laugh.
Happy Pride from all of us at The Improv Centre!
