🍕 🍣 Omai Rice Bar in Baldwin Village is doing crispy rice sushi pizza, and it’s not your usual slice. The $45 one is loaded with Hokkaido uni, bluefin tuna and caviar on a golden, crunchy sushi rice crust. The $17 Korean BBQ version comes with smoked brisket and bulgogi. Fresh, buttery, and seriously crispy.
Fun fact: sushi pizza was invented right here in Toronto in the early ’90s, when a local chef fried up sushi rice and topped it like a pizza. Thirty years later, it’s still a hometown classic, and Omai is putting its own spin on it with an extra-crispy base and Korean-inspired flavours.
There are 15 flavours, from spicy salmon to gochujang pork belly. Save the uni one for date night 😉
