The Rhino Bar & Grill
We are looking for a passionate and committed Front-of-House Manager (FOH) to assist in the day-to-day management of a popular Queen West bar located in Parkdale. The FOH Manager will work closely with the owners and management team.
The position requires an individual to be willing and able to work 45-50 hours per week. A standard week will consist of 2 day shift and 3 closing shifts.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act as the liaison between Management and FOH teams;
Hire, train and motivate all new and current FOH staff members;
Responsible for creating and posting the FOH schedule and ensuring labour budgets are effectively managed;
Demonstrate strong leadership and maintain and oversee employee relations;
Lead by example while holding staff accountable for their performance;
Writing up staff members who consistently fail to perform within their duties;
Act as a brand ambassador by developing and managing guest relations and guest satisfaction, including handling reservations;
Develop and execute new ideas and initiatives to build revenue; support promotions and pop-up events;
Effective use of common sense, good judgment and resources to independently resolve operational matters while still demonstrating high personal integrity and business ethics;
Ensuring scheduled staff cleaning duties are being completed and performed;
Ensure restaurant adheres to all legislative and government guidelines (i.e. proper and safe food and beverage service, AGCO, Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS, Human Rights Code, Employment Standards, etc.)
Lead the FOH staff and ensure they're supported throughout their shifts;
Opportunity to pick up floor and bar shifts;
Ensure staff cash-outs have been completed, checked and placed in the designated area;
Closing the bar (arming alarms, locking all exits, etc.).

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS
A minimum of two (2) years of management experience in the hospitality industry;
Possess a good foundation of beer knowledge; understanding of craft beers, able to educate staff members;
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and with the capability to be resourceful, problem solve and delegate;
Exceptional attention to detail;
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, Touch Bistro and 7shifts Scheduling;
Smart Serve certified;
Full-time position with flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as required to meet the restaurant demands;
