Happy Thanksgiving from our SLATE family to yours! 🍁🧡

Thanksgiving is about so much more than a beautiful meal. It’s about coming home to the people you love, gathering around a table filled with favourite dishes, sharing stories you’ve heard a hundred times and still laughing at them like it’s the first.

It’s the warmth of a family kitchen, the smell of something delicious in the oven, an extra chair pulled up for someone special and the simple happiness of having everyone together. ❤️

To our wonderful neighbours in The Beaches, we wish you a Thanksgiving filled with love, good health, peace and countless reasons to be grateful. May your homes be warm, your tables full, your hearts happy and your loved ones always close.

Who decided sangria was only for summer? 🍷🍊

Sure, the weather in The Beaches is getting cooler, the leaves are changing and everyone’s reaching for their sweaters. But a glass of fruity sangria still sounds pretty good to us!

Today, we pause to honour the Survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the families and Indigenous communities whose lives continue to be affected by this history.

This day is a reminder that reconciliation begins with truth — with listening, learning, remembering and making space for the voices and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.

Our hope is for a future built on understanding, respect and compassion — one where every child is valued, every story is heard, and the lessons of the past help shape a more caring and inclusive Canada for generations to come.

September is here, and Toronto has already started reminding us that summer doesn’t last forever. 🍍 The evenings are getting cooler, jackets are coming back out, but we’re not quite ready to let go of that summer feeling yet.

Okay, can we talk about this wall for a second? 🌸 It’s become one of those little parts of SLATE Restaurant & Bar that somehow ends up in so many evenings — first dates, birthday dinners, girls’ nights, family celebrations… and yes, quite a few “wait, take a photo of me here” moments. 😄

We see it every day, but when the light hits all those pink roses like this, it still makes us stop and look.
