Get ready for some bad news.

Yesterday a customer contacted us to say that they had tested positive for Covid. This customer was in the bar on Tuesday December 14 between 9:30 - 11:00 pm. Everyone who signed our contact tracing log that day was notified by phone yesterday. Well, except for the people who left invalid phone numbers. Best fake phone number: 420-6969-6666. So dumb, you even messed up the devil's digits!

Now the plot thickens/sickens. Two of our employees have tested Covid positive using rapid tests. One of these employees is waiting for results from a PCR test and the other employee is waiting for a test appointment. Toronto Public Health has been contacted but they cannot log these as active cases until the individuals receive PCR test results. However, there is a potential chance of exposure if you were in the bar on Tuesday December 14 after 6:00 pm, Wednesday December 15 after 6:00 pm, and Friday December 17 after 8:00 pm.

The remaining two of us have tested negative with rapid tests but are in the process of booking PCR tests.

Man, this sucks. I really don't want to get sick. I don't want any of you to get sick...and as trivial as this sounds, can't help but want to shed a tear for all the beer trapped in kegs.

Please monitor for symptoms if you were here in the last little while. Get tested when you can and stay safe.

Here's the scoop for today. It's going to be take-out only from 1:00 - 5:00 pm. Tbh, safety concerns aside, just needing a little break from this madness!

Hope to have some people inside as the week goes on with (obviously) modified hours and reduced capacity.

How is it December 1 already?! Did you remember to pay rent?

Speaking of rent, our 10 year lease is nearing its end. Many of you know this already, but in case you haven't heard, Thirsty will be closing shop at the end of the year. This building is crumbling and Covid is still lurking so it feels like the perfect opportunity to take a little break from bar ownership.

In the meantime, don't forget there's still a ton of beer in the fridge for you to drink!!!!!
