Sad news on this August Day!
Mrs Inge Baumann passed away.
In Loving Memory
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ingeborg “Inge” Baumann, beloved wife of Anton Baumann. Inge passed away peacefully on August 26, at the age of 85, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Inge (Schomodji) was born in Semlin, Yugoslavia, on July 26, 1941. At the age of eleven, she came to Canada from Austria with her parents, brother Gerhard, and grandparents. Through the Danube Swabian community in Toronto, she met Anton, and they married in July 1960. Together, they built a life filled with family, and lasting memories, raising their two daughters, Monica and Sylvia.
Over the years, Inge’s family grew to include four grandchildren, Adam Turi, Jakob Turi, Blake Shyba, and Corie Shyba; three great-grandchildren, Riley Turi, Zoey Turi, and Otto Turi; and two sons-in-law, Norbert Turi and Glenn Shyba. Her family and close friends were at the heart of her life, and she treasured the time they shared together. She especially cherished caring for and spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories that will remain deeply meaningful to them.
She found particular joy in time spent at the cottage and, in later years, days on the water at Bluffers Park. In the last few years, she devoted herself lovingly to Anton, becoming an amazing caregiver and offering him steadfast care.
Inge’s presence will be deeply missed, but the memories she helped create will continue to bring comfort.

It is with heavy hearts and a profound sense of loss that we announce the peaceful passing of Ingeborg (Inge) Baumann (nee Schomodji) on August 26, 2026, at Amica Retirement Home Pickering, with her loving family by her side at the age of 85. Beloved wife of 66 years to Anton. Loving mother of Monica (Norbert) and Sylvia (Glenn). Proud Oma of Adam (Cheyenne), Jakob (Nicki), Blake and Corie. Proud great grandmother of Riley, Zoey and Otto. Inge will be sadly missed and held dear in the hearts of her extended family and friends. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
