We are very sad to hear of the passing of bassist Guenther Kapelle. Guenther was a very close friend of Herve and was such a huge support for Herve's partner Krystyna when Herve passed away. He also stepped up to help create, organize and support the Herve Basset Foundation. He was a true gentleman, amazing talent and wonderful human. Rest in Peace Guenther. You will be missed by so many. No doubt you are rocking out with Herve in rock and roll heaven as we speak.

Thank you!! On behalf of our friend, Herve Basset, we have raised close to $10,000 to support these wonderful musicians in Toronto through the Herve Basset Foundation! Here is a wonderful message from Charlie McKittrick, one of the recipients:

"I got the chance to meet Herve and chat with him for five minutes after you two blew my mind with one of your killer duo shows at the new Hideout, a few months before he passed. He really made quite a lasting impression on me. First as a performer, of course, but then as he was talking with me I picked up on his calm demeanor, lack of ego and pleasant disposition; a true gentleman, a genuine personality and an undeniable top shelf talent."

Can't thank everyone enough for your support of Brady's Basement. So far we've helped 8 musicians who are out of work at the moment. Paul McCann (pictured here) is one of those great people we've helped through the Herve Basset Foundation. Herve Basset would be beaming as helping local musicians was something near and dear to his heart. Overwhelmed with the support for Brady's Basement: Live Stream Concerts to support musicians! So far raised in just 7 nights......$4795! 100% of it is going to support local musicians out of work via the Herve Basset Foundation. It's amazing how many people have bought virtual tickets and also stepped up as sponsors (Jack Daniel's, Eastbound Brewing Company, Hemingway's and The Hideout Toronto). I am taking a short break for a few days to rest up and enjoy the amazing streams by friends. Please check out Phill Hood, Shawn Eiferman, Bon Evans, Don Campbell and many others who are doing the same thing. Our next show will be announced soon and proceeds will goto Phill Hood who was selected by Scott Baragar.

In addition to raising $5000 to support Bout winning band Downriver Band and donating $3700 to the Regent Park School of music last year, we just started an online streaming platform through Facebook to support musicians during COVID-19. So many musicians out of work and we are helping one at a time. Last night we raised $1000! for the talented Jeff Eager who has three young kids and is out of work for a while. Stay tuned tonight for a schedule and links so you can join in and support. We encourage musicians to try and do streams yourself and set up donations to keep music alive and musicians viable during this tough time.

Very pleased to let you know that a donation of $2000 was made to the Regent Park School of Music this week on behalf of Herve Basset and the Herve Basset Foundation. Thank you to Alexander 'Sascha' Tukatsch for connecting us with this wonderful organization and thank you again to Toney Springer, Murad Gunduz and Guenther from Wild T and the Spirit, Phil Naro and 'Ozone Baby' and Tim Cassidy as well as the The Hideout Toronto who hosted an event earlier this year that raised these funds. Stay tuned for more updates. These funds will cover one student in need for an entire year of music lessons - Shawn, Guenther, Krystyna, Alex and Jessica.

We lost Herve two years ago today. His legacy lives on. In August we will be presenting a cheque for $5000 from the Herve Basset Foundation to the winners of the The Hideout Toronto 'BOUT' competition of over 70 bands. The winners are an amazing act out of Sarnia called The Down River Band. The money will be used to assist the band with marketing and publicity and promotion. Herve was all about supporting young bands and artists and our foundation is so happy to see this money being used to advance the career of a new band. Stay tuned for more details. Hi everyone! Our foundation is very proud to partner with The Hideout Toronto and The Bout Finals. We will be on the judging panel and helping to select the winner of this one of a kind indie rock competition. One winner out of over 100 bands that have competed over the past few months. Our foundation dollars will be providing financial support to the winning band for marketing and publicity. Herve was very big on supporting independent artists. This is our way of honouring his passion for independent artists and new, original music.

Hi everyone - a reminder of the fundraiser we are putting on Ozone Baby/Wild T&The Spirit: Herve Basset Foundation Fundraiser on Feb 9th at The Hideout Toronto! 100% of proceeds goto the Herve Basset Foundation to support musicians in Toronto. Tickets only $15. $1 off every Amsterdam beer and Nutrl Vodka drink go directly to the Foundation! It is Herve's birthday at midnight (Feb 10). THis is how he would love to celebrate - with friends and rock and roll. Tim Cassidy, Phil Naro and Guenther Kapelle were both very close to Herve and it's such an honour to have them grace the stage on this special night.
