It’s the most wonderful time of the year! The official beginning of summer! And more importantly, the anniversary of opening the doors of our beloved Back Pocket : “) Look how far we’ve come!

Every year at the festival, Sid takes a picture of us in our tent and every year we get more hungover and tired I guess haha? Come by this year and see if the tradition continues!

Little context for this weekend:

- Queen will be open regular hours.
- Dundas will be closing at 1pm on FRIDAY so we can setup.
- Dundas will be open INSIDE the shop from 8am to 10am SATURDAY & SUNDAY.
- We will only be serving on the street after 10am! We will have hot coffee, cold brew, butter tarts and lemonade! And maybe some new merch (stay tuned).

Mamma mia what a week! Our oven broke down, the internet stopped working, the ACs were acting up, one of the espresso machines was being weird, the roof was leaking…when it rains it pours (literally). We were starting to think someone cursed us lol. But alas!! We persevered! We took a limo to the Keg Mansion and feasted together! It’s gonna be nice out soon! And it’s the weekend! It’s that time of year again (4 months later) where we have our (very delayed) staff “holiday” party. The holiday season is busy and then you blink and suddenly it’s April!

We will be closing both shops early tomorrow at 4pm and opening an hour later on Wednesday at 8am so we can go ride around in style and eat some food and have some drinks together as a team!!

Our staff is the best! They deserve it! Wish us well!

Our busy season is just around the corner and we’re looking to add another barista into the mix at Larry’s Place!

A bit about the role:
    ⁃    2-3 shifts a week to start
    ⁃    Starting rate of $18.25/hr + daily cash tips + biweekly card tip out
    ⁃    Weekend availability is a must!
    ⁃    Food handlers certification
    ⁃    Confident working alone behind the bar
    ⁃    Experience with manual espresso machines and dialling in

With the warmer weather on the horizon things are really ramping up, so we’re looking for someone with recent coffee experience to hit the ground running! We unfortunately will not have the time to train from scratch this time around, so experience is a must.

The details!
- Commercial kitchen experience required
- 3-4 shifts per week
- Starting wage of $19.50 an hour with biweekly tip out
- Shifts start as early as 5:30am

Kirby and Mo are constantly breaking cups at the shop so we sent them off to make some more for us!!!

Our lovely regular JP opened up a new pottery studio and kindly let Kirby and Mo go in and do the 2-week introduction course and they LOVED IT! The studio is amazing and all of the instructors were incredible! In fact, Kirby and Mo did so well we’re afraid they’re going to trade the espresso machine in for a kiln lol
