The Royalton Hotel is a local bar which a long rich history. It is the oldest bar in Thunder Bay, the longest lasting bar in Thunder Bay to retain it's original name, and at one point, the most prestigious bar/hotel between Winnipeg and Toronto. When one walks in, it is like taking a step back in time. Walk in and you are presented with 4 options:
1) Make a right; step back in time to the mid 80'
s and hit the bar featuring numerous pac-man & pool tables, jukebox entertainment, Satelite TV, Various domestic beers, chips, and world famous pickled eggs.
2) Hang a left; step back in time to the mid 70's and hit the Martini Lounge. Red shag carpet and vintage decor with a fully stacked bar.
3) Go straight ahead up the stairs to the hotel. (currently all rooms are being used as live in apartments)
4) Go straight ahead down the stairs to the reception hall. Where one can book for events or use as a dance floor. (it is wise to note that the only area open regularly is the bar)
