Elks Lodge 82 Elks Lodge 82 Thunder Bay has been a part of our community since 1919. A group of members who volunt Think of it as a “national network” of friends.

ELKS OF CANADA


The Elks of Canada have grown to over 250 lodges with close to 15,000 members and are committed to our Vision of being the most progressive family focused organization in Canada, meeting community and member needs and expectations. The qualifications to become a member of the Elks are: Any person of good reputation, a believer in a Supreme Being, an adherent of lawful government a

nd having attained the age of 16. Members are initiated by their home lodge, become members of the National Order and receive a warm welcome in any lodge they visit across Canada. All applicants must complete a membership application and be proposed by a member in good standing at a regular meeting of a Lodge. Membership fees are collected and a ballot/vote upon the admission of the candidate is taken. (Fees are determined by each local Lodge.) Once approved each member is “initiated” into the Elks by a special and meaningful ceremony. Once initiated they are entitled to all the privileges of membership in the Elks of Canada. The men and women of the Elks of Canada promote and support community needs across Canada

GO BIG OR GO HOME must be the motto for the Elks Lodge 82 AA11 Hockey Team. As you recall the Elks hosted a food drive for the Dew Drop Inn at the Metro on Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm and they managed to drop off 2 very full truck loads of non perishable food items and if that was not awesome enough over over $1,000 in cash donations. Insert BIG WOW now! We sincerely appreciate your efforts and we also want to send out a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported this food drive. January has been an incredibly busy month for us and these donations will come in very handy. Thanks again to everyone for making this event the success it was. We simply could not do what we do without you.
