Sweater weather is still patio weather.

Our patio is staying open into the fall, Thursday through Sunday from Noon to close and Open Mic Night Wednesdays (September 16th & 30th), as long as the weather plays along.

Cool air, a pint that actually tastes better at this temperature, and the best seat in town for watching fall sunsets.

We’ve got the blankets, grab a friend. We'll keep the taps flowing until the cold finally wins.

Seventy thousand people came to Sussex on the weekend and someone you know served every single one of them.

Drinks poured, breakfasts served, beds turned over, tills run, and that age old question, “Are the balloons going up?” answered 100 times over. Nobody made a fuss about it, because that's not how it's done here.

This town punches so far above its weight that people forget how small it is. That isn't luck. It's quiet confidence, good nature, and a serious amount of pride in this place and last week it was standing behind every counter in town.

So this week, let’s take care of our own. Let’s share a kind word, be patient, say thanks, and be generous in our gratuities. And if you catch a frontline server off shift at our place, why not buy them the beer. There’ll be a few Beer it Forward Cards on the board for them too!

Today would be perfect for a Love In a Canoe Light Lager. Light bodied, mildly hopped, with a crisp finish. Stop in for a pint or grab some cans to go to my commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta.

❓The balloon on the can is called InFini’T Air and belongs to local pilot Greg & Lisa Taber. Do you know the local spot he’s flying over?

The taproom and patio are open from Noon to 8pm.

Sunset Social is tonight. 🎈Local artisans and craft brews at The Gate with a chance of balloons overhead.

Pottery, jewellery, flowers, fresh pasta, original art. Swipe to see who's coming.

Patio's open from noon, 6Hundred's kitchen is on, taps are pouring. Come early, eat, then wander the market as the sun goes down.

6 to 9:30. Handmade and home grown, all of it local.

🎈 Forty years of balloons over this town. 🎈

Congratulations to the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta committee! Four decades of getting this right is no small thing, and Sussex is better for it. Thank you!

And for everyone coming in for the weekend: the balloons fly twice a day, and the gap in between means lots of time to explore. Do what the locals do, leave the car where you parked, walk the bridge behind the Arena and RBC and take in Main Street on foot.

We are open from 11am to 10pm all weekend with lots going on on top of cold beer and hot food from 6Hundred. See you somewhere in the middle of it all!

Sure you’ve been to Sussex for the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta before but have you been in to visit us since we moved across the street and teamed up with 6Hundred to serve food?

Full menu, right here, alongside everything on tap and our patio at the back.

Open 11am to 10pm and Friday and Saturday evenings we’ll be serving next door at the Gate at the Sunset Makers Market and the final Gate Outdoors music night on Saturday.

Come see us and if the wind blows the right way, you may even catch a balloon floating by overhead!

Ask anyone who’s crewed a hot air balloon and they’ll tell you that pre-dawn in a dark dewy field wrestling something the size of a house is the best part of the day.

A lot of those crazy people support us all year long and we wanted to show our gratitude. We’ve signed on as a Gold Sponsor for the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta to host the pilot and crew tailgate BBQ on the field this year and we can’t wait to fill their bellies!

Haven’t been to the Fiesta before? It’s a family weekend so go, take the kids, watch a launch!

And when you need a break, pop across the walking bridge and join us at our taproom or on the patio.

We’ll also be serving next door at Leonard’s Gate on the weekend.

Friday it’s the AX: The Arts & Culture Centre of Sussex Sunset Social & Makers Market.

Saturday it’s a beer garden with SideKick performing, sponsored by Sussex Downtown Business Association, Explore Sussex and Ax.

Happy Labour Day! We’d like to give a tip of our hats to the people who pour, brew, haul, wash and close up every week to ensure you have an awesome time with us.

They’ve got the day off today but will be back tomorrow killin’ it!
