Happy Birthday Sammy J's Grill & Bar!! Thanks for all the good times!
A letter from the president:
Wow!!! Our beloved Sammy J's Grill & Bar turns 25 YEARS young today!!
A quarter century of ice cold beers, tasty fresh food, great guests, incredible staff and an amazing leadership team we have only gotten better at what we all believe in. Through thick and thin, numerous recessions and an unexpected pandemic it has been a great ride all the way.
The vision I had in 1996 when I founded Sammy J’s is still 100% the same now! So grateful to my business partner and brother Steve Gardner and our badass employees that have been with us along for the ride. Thank you Randy Butson, Grant Gormley, Salvatore Lo Bianco, Samantha Noble, Stephanie St Arnaud , Hope Buchanan, Kevin Stumph, Shelbea Lalonde, and our resident photographer Jessica Niven. To all of the incredible front and back of house staff, shift leaders, kitchen managers and chefs, thank you!! There are way too many to list, but you know who you are and just know that we are truly nothing without you.
With 4 great Sammy J’s locations: Sammy J's Grill & Bar ( Langley, where it all began), Sammy J's Grill & Bar, (Morgan Crossing) Sammy J's Grill & Bar (West Kelowna) and Sammy J's Grill & Bar (Maple Ridge opening this July) we keep going strong, and feel pretty humble and grateful to be able to say this!
I once again would like to sincerely thank all of the great people who have come and gone over the years. Whether Sammy J’s was a stepping stone for you in your youth, or you have stayed on as an integral part of our growth and longevity, you are all just as important. Who knows, maybe you even met your significant other at Sammy J’s!! Without your love and support we wouldn't be here today, still laughing and having a wicked awesome time with everyone.
Last but not least a special shout out to our incredible parents Tom and Alice Gardner, our amazing spouses Karen Lee Batten and Stacie Scraba Gardner, (who put up with us in the forever crazy restaurant industry), and our now adult kids who think we are not as cool as we know we are.
At Sammy J’s everyone is a “regular”.
~ Mike Gardner | President
