Our pond has some very special new residents... baby ducks have arrived! 🦆💛

Their arrival has brought plenty of smiles and has become a delightful highlight of our days at Wellings of Stittsville.

Be sure to take a stroll by the pond and say hello to our newest feathered friends. Nature always has a way of making our community feel even more special! 🌿☀️

A big thank you to Luc Cooper from Houle Healthcare for visiting Wellings of Stittsville and hosting a wheelchair and walker clinic for our members!

Luc spent time inspecting, adjusting, and tuning up walkers to help ensure they are safe, comfortable, and working at their best. These small adjustments can make a big difference in confidence and mobility.

In the second photo, June is proudly showing off her freshly tuned-up walker. Having recently celebrated a milestone birthday, June continues to inspire us with her positive attitude and bright smile! 😊

We are grateful for community partners like Luc who help support the health, independence, and well-being of our members.

Our Healthy Aging Series continued this week with an informative and engaging presentation from Jennifer Heale of the Kidney Foundation of Canada.

Residents learned about the important role our kidneys play in overall health, warning signs to watch for, practical tips for maintaining kidney health, and the valuable programs and services available through the Foundation.

We were also fortunate to hear from Irwin Schweitzer, a board member and dedicated leader of several caregiver support groups. Irwin shared insights into the challenges faced by those caring for loved ones with kidney disease and highlighted the importance of support, education, and community.

A heartfelt thank you to Jennifer and Irwin for sharing their knowledge and helping our members make informed choices to support healthy aging and well-being.

Our resident duck couple has once again made themselves right at home at Wellings of Stittsville! 🦆💙

Whether they're enjoying a peaceful swim in the pond, taking a stroll around the property, or simply relaxing by the water's edge, they have become a favorite sight for many of our members.

As the warmer weather arrives and our gardens come to life, it's wonderful to share our beautiful surroundings with some feathered friends. Be sure to keep an eye out for this charming pair during your next walk around the community!
