Here’s what’s happening at The Backyard from September 7 to 13.

Monday: Half-price kids’ meals and our milkshake menu
Tuesday: $5 off all burgers, half-price bottles of w**e and sign-on night for the returning Valleycliffe Darts League
Wednesday: Trivia with Shane Fry at 7:30pm
Thursday: Local taps are $6 all day
Friday: Dentville ginger b**r cocktails for $10
Saturday: Brunch from 11am to 2pm and $6 Steamworks taps

Then on Sunday, we’ve got a full afternoon and evening at the pub. Brunch runs from 11am to 2pm, followed by two free live sets:

JennaMae from 3pm to 6pm
Zack Walter from 6pm to 8pm

Whether you’re looking to join the darts league, play some trivia, grab brunch or spend Sunday listening to live local music, there’s plenty happening this week.

The Valleycliffe Darts League is returning for another season at The Backyard.

The league has been incredibly popular in previous years, and sign-up nights for the new season are happening at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 8 and Tuesday, September 15.

Here’s what you need to know:

• Teams of three
• $20 per player
• Weekly games on Tuesdays
• Choose between 6:30 pm or 8 pm time slots
• Maximum of 12 teams, with spots available first come, first served

Don’t have a team? Sign up anyway. We’ll take down your information and do our best to match you with other players or form a team from the singles.

Please bring each player’s name, phone number and/or email address. You can also contact [email protected] with any questions.

It’s always a fun league with a bit of friendly competition and plenty of good people. We’re looking forward to having everyone back.

September’s live music lineup is here, with a free show every Sunday at The Backyard.

September 6: Ella Johnson from 5pm
Ella gets the month started with a warm, laid-back set that should feel right at home on a Sunday evening at the pub.

September 13: JennaMae from 3pm to 6pm, followed by Zack Walter from 6pm to 8pm
JennaMae is a Sea to Sky favourite with a soulful voice and a sound shaped by pop, funk and R&B. Zack is a Squamish country-folk artist with a rich baritone voice and honest songs inspired by real life, love and family.

September 20: Ted Kim from 5pm to 8pm
Ted is an award-winning singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Chilliwack. His acoustic sound blends contemporary folk with the alternative rock influences of the ’90s and early 2000s.

September 27: Riverbank Roses from 6pm to 8pm
Local duo Riverbank Roses blend pop, folk and soul, pairing Olivia’s soulful vocals with Carter’s country-influenced style. Expect a mix of heartfelt originals and carefully chosen covers.

Every show is completely free. Come down for dinner, settle in with a drink and spend a Sunday listening to some great live music in your neighbourhood pub.

There’s a little something happening every day this week at The Backyard.

Monday: Kids’ meals are half price, plus our milkshake menu

Here’s a little sample of what we have in store tonight.

Niko is playing a free live show at The Backyard today from 5pm, bringing a relaxed acoustic set and a great mix of songs to ease us into the evening.

Come grab some food, settle in with a drink and enjoy a few hours of live music in the pub. The show is completely free and everyone is welcome.
