A little history- my grandpa had all the kids helping at his business. It was part of culture in the 60s, 70s. My parents had us at work too cause really- they couldn't leave us home alone. We probably would have burned the house down. Being at work all the time forced me to learn skills- I served my first cup of coffee at 7 or 8 ( notice not 6-7 🤣🤣), took care of the till and did our mental math, making change.

Now I'm training my monkey to learn how to do fried rice on a commercial wok, and it's usually hella hot. (Of course I controlled the heat this round for him). But really, I'll probably get yelled at for doing it, but how else do we make kids useful? I have to stop bubble wrapping my kid at some point . PS his ginger fried rice was pretty good

Disclaimer- I repeat myself a lot 🤣
