🎩 HOUDINI SPOILS SHINGO'S PARTY! 🃏

Shingo was on a serious hot streak, but last week his run finally came down to one last hand against Joe.

Both players were all in.

Joe: pocket 8s
Shingo: 10-3

The flop didn't help Shingo. The turn didn't either — but suddenly there were three clubs on the board, with Joe holding the 8♣.

Shingo was now hoping for a 10 on the river to make his pair and take the hand.

Then came the moment...

Our tournament director Brian has developed a strange habit of calling out ridiculous cards just before they appear. And this time, he had a feeling Shingo was forgetting something.

Shingo needed a 10 and was desperatly calling for it.

But not every 10 would save him.

Brian suddenly blurted out:

“10 OF CLUBS!”

The river card turned over...

10♣!

Shingo got his 10...

but Joe got the flush! 😂♣️

🎩 Houdini had done it again — except instead of pulling a rabbit out of the hat, he pulled the ONE 10 Shingo didn't want to see!

Joe takes the pot and the win, Shingo's hot streak comes to an end, and once again we're reminded:

Dusten is on a roll, winning last weeks game and sitting atop the points lead, and dare I say, playing great poker! tonight I'm bringing back the extra $5k bonus chip for those who are supporting the venue by having some of the Shark Clubs awesome eats, the turnout has been a bit slow and while poker is free to play for our members, we do hope that you find value in the league and support it by spending a few bucks on some eats, drinks and for those who dont have $ to burn, be sure to tip your hard working servers at least for your H2o or pop.

Brothers, Bluff & the Poker Gods

Last week’s Maxem Poker game delivered something we don’t see every night — brother against brother, heads up for the championship!

Sasuke and Shingo found themselves staring each other down with everything on the line. Both had been paying close attention all night, watching the hands, watching the cards, and trying to figure out what the poker table was telling them.

Then came the moment.

Sasuke looked at the situation and made his declaration:

“any ACE! I’m shipping it!”

A bold prediction from the older brother.

But Shingo wasn't backing down. He had his own feeling about what was coming:

“ANY JACK… I’M ALL IN!”

Two brothers.
Two predictions.
One final hand.

And apparently, the Poker Gods were listening.

The cards came — and unbelievably, both brothers got exactly what they had called for!

Sasuke found his Ace… but it couldn't find a friend.
Shingo found his Jack… and then his Jack found another Jack!

Just like somebody had written the ending before the cards were even dealt, Shingo’s hunch turned into a pair of Jacks, while Sasuke’s mighty Ace was left standing all by itself.

Sometimes poker isn't about having the biggest card.

Sometimes it's about calling your shot… and having the Poker Gods decide to give you exactly what you asked for. 😂🃏

Sasktachean's MLA's and SLGA officials made this big announcement 20 years ago that they would work together with Manitoba, who also started charity poker at the same time as here. Instead, there was no communication, Manitoba updated their rules and regulations dozens of times, their inspectors actualy undertand poker. Saskatchen did not, changed nothing, left the max prize pool at $5k, turned a blind eye to any suggestions to improve the regulations to allow it to thrive, and were almost insulted when asked to consider changes. In this single game, Manitoba did twice as much business in one game than Saskatchewan did in 2 years with this $40k prize pool.
