In an emergency meeting, The Black Dog Club has created a logo in response to The Tanners- The Tan Dog Club. Here are some highlights:
- The approved the new Black Dog Club logo with only one hold out, a lab named Shadow, who felt the logo was “a bit too on the nose”
- President Harry was quoted in his official press release “ We are very excited to have a friendly rivalry with The Tanners. It’s not a competition, but The Shadows are an ancient club dating back 5 Million years, so…………….. yeah”
- The club voted down paying someone to make the logo for the club due to a lack of graphic designers willing to work for dog treats and chew toys
- Sara had some “life hacks” to keep cool when your coat is literally designed to keep heat in.
Riveting stuff! We will have more from an official meeting of The Black Dog Club or “The Shadows” next month.

One of our longest serving creatures Nanuq and he little brother Bjorn are leaving us for a wonderful new adventure in BC! We are very sad to see Nanuq and Bjorn leaving us but outdoor adventures in BC are too tempting to pass up!
Wanted to share a video and Nanuq’s very first day at The Hound Lounge! Over 8 years ago! We got to have the privilege to grow up with Nanuq and Bjorn and I am very thankful for that!
Thank you to parents for all the wonderful years with your two!
Nana Banana and Bjorn (hard J sound) we are gunna miss you too! But jealous for your new home and new adventures!

Bath and Blowout Sunday!!!
Shedding season is in full effect, if your pooch needs a good bath and blow out all the winter coat, why not support a local charity at the same time!
Sunday May 24th we will be doing baths and blowouts all in support of Sunshine Service Dogs, here’s how it will work:
-7 spots will be available starting at 10am
- You will drop your dog off with us (2015 Alberta Ave) at your allotted time and pickup when they are ready.
- A Bath/Blowout and a nail trim will be what we can do. We will not cut hair.
- Price will depend on coat, temperament and time
- Cash or e transfer for payment
To book a spot please call/text us or shoot us a message on social media!
A good bath and blowout is great for your pups coat, keeps them cool and saves time vacuuming. You also get to support a great local charity!

Please Welcome The Tanners- The Tan Dog Club!
Some highlights of their very first meeting:
- a proposal to have everyone change their last name to “Tanner” like the family from Full House has been rejected by consensus.
- First president of the Tan Dog Club has been named, please welcome President Jefferson!!
- in order to one up The Black Dog Club, a club logo has been created. We wait for their response!
- Member Honey has sent a proposal to the parents to outlaw giving regular dog food as treats. Proposal passed 100%. Parents will be receiving official warnings from The Tan Dog Clubs Lawyer Miss Berty Esquire, to stop these actions immediately.
- a heated debate about weather ball or ropes are the best toy. Both Mini and Charlie had to be physically restrained.

🚨‼️Kennel Cough:
It’s come to my attention that there has been a Kennel Cough outbreak at some of the boarding facilities in the area. I don’t know which ones as of yet, so I am going to be reimplementing a policy for a while until the outbreak settles down.
If your dog attends another facility for daycare of boarding, I am ask your dog not return to The Hound Lounge for 7 days from the time you picked your dog(s) up from the other facility.
This is a Honour system style policy so please be honest if your dog has attended another facility and will be away from daycare. Kennel cough is spread so rapidly and can take a long time for a dog to present with symptoms (if at all) that we need to carefully monitor and ensure other don’t get sick. Any questions, please let me know. The policy will take affect today.
