It is with a truly thankful heart that i write this post informing our long-term, and new, customers that change is on the horizon! Since opening my own business in 1998 I’ve been blessed to have come to know so many incredible citizens of this amazing small town. From a corner store, to U-Haul, to teeny-tiny Lucky’s Lounge, Chester Chicken and ultimately Bleacher’s Bar. I’ve been regularly humbled by the support and love of family, customers who became family.
One of the most difficult aspects of running your own small business is just how personal the business, employees, and customer become. We’ve had so many incredible moments together and i want everyone to know just how much i appreciate each and every moment as well as everyone involved. It’s a result of all of you that i can now announce my retirement, along with the sale of Bleachers Bar.
We’ve had some great times huh? Benefits, auctions, music awards, Ralph dressed in a tux behind the bar, me attempting some type of pole dancing activity which did not work out so well (oops!), Party line, karaoke, weddings, birthday parties, all the parties! Parties aren’t coming to an end, just another Master of Ceremonies will take the lead.
To my staff, former and current- thank you for your support, your time, your caring attitude and the love you’ve shown my business, my customers and my family. It is because of employees such as yourselves that im able to make this decision; i know I’ll always have your support.
To my son, Dwanne- it’s been a ride hasn’t it? Never in my wildest dreams when you returned home to manage the bar did i think we would be here today. The success i enjoy is a direct result of your hard work and ability to pivot when needed. I am thankful to you for your support, your sacrifices, and your love for all of these years. It’s time for the both of us to take some time, get some rest, and live a little!
To my customers- thank you, thank you, thank you! Of all the treasures I’ve obtained over the years, your friendship is the most priceless. I am nothing without all of you and i want you to know how much i appreciate your business, but more importantly, your love.
A special to Ralph Landers- I owe you the biggest thank you. We all appreciate everything you’ve done for Bleachers and my family. Without you, we would not be where we are today. From your amazing advice, to a hug when i need it, to being the best dressed bartender and the kindest man around. I am forever grateful for the help and support you provide us all. We love you Ralph!!
While my time as owner is ending, my time as a customer is just beginning! All i have to say now is “put the fireball on ice bi***es, it’s drinking time!”
Come join us Saturday day and night to celebrate the end of an era!
Bar will be open Sunday October 12th as usual under new ownership.
