Well, hello there...long time no...see? Talk? Post? Oh, yeah—posts! Those things i used to do every once in a while 🙋🏻‍♀️.

So, this pandemic thing...kind of threw a wrench in my momentum and changed the game completely for me. How about you?

Who knew bartending wasn’t an “essential service”?! (Ask some of my regulars and i promise you they would beg to differ). This whole situation leaves me wondering “Will i eventually be replaced by a robot or vending machine?”. “Will customer service become a thing of the past?”. “How much do we really need bartenders & servers?”.

A whole lot, in my opinion. Yeah, yeah i am super biased when it comes to these questions but hey-even if I wasn’t in the industry that i’m in (which I can’t even imagine tbh) would i feel the same way?
Yes. Yes i would.

Human, face-to-face connection with strangers matters and is so important! I thrive off of it!

So, needless to say, this whole thing has left this bartender a little lonely behind the bar and a lot uninspired...thinking maybe vending machine cocktails is a good business idea 🤔. Sigh.

It’s those little details that makes something extra special. That takes it from good to great. Mediocre to spectacular. Presentation has always been extremely important to me when it comes to anything i produce. I’ve always had an artistic eye and am a very visual person.

Like with food, you drink a beverage with your eyes first...if something doesn’t look good, you are likely to believe it doesn’t taste good either. Even if it does taste good, I don’t think you would enjoy it as much as you would if it were also beautifully presented.

A culinary experience should be exactly that—an experience. A feeling. A lasting memory that you look back upon fondly, eagerly anticipating the next time you will feel that way again. Because at the end of the day, as Maya Angelou put it, “...people won't remember what you said or did, they will remember how you made them feel.”

Hello, Summer 💛🌞!
I’ve definitely been known to work like a maniac all summer (it’s hard not to when you live in a tourist town and work in the hospitality industry) but my health, happiness and just general quality of life always suffers when i do that!!
My goals for this year are to get out on the water in my kayak/row boat/paddle board at least weekly, go camping monthly and to get outside for minimum an hour every day! Oh and i also want to try fishing and crabbing! What are your summer fun goals?
