We are saddened today by the news of Dolly Parton’s passing.

We were incredibly fortunate to welcome Dolly to our stage in the 1970s, touring with Jerry Reed in 1974 and with Faron Young in 1976.

Dolly’s music was legendary. Her voice, songwriting and unmistakable spirit became an iconic part of music history, leaving a legacy that will live on for generations.

Thank you, Dolly, for the stories, the music and the memories.

Your songs will forever have a place on our stage and in our hearts. Rest in Peace Dolly.

56 years ago today, the curtain officially went up.

On August 24, 1970, the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts officially opened its doors.

56 years later, that stage has hosted legends, laughter, standing ovations, unforgettable performances, community celebrations, first dates, family traditions and countless moments that became memories.

But behind every one of those memories has been something just as important: people.

For 56 years, countless employees, past and present, have worked behind the scenes, in the halls, on the stages and throughout the building to make those moments happen. From the first opening night to the next big performance, it has always taken teamwork, dedication and a whole lot of heart.

The name may have changed from the Saskatchewan Centre of the Arts to the Conexus Arts Centre, but one thing hasn’t:

The stories keep coming.

To everyone who has been part of the team over the past 56 years, thank you for helping make the memories. This place is more than a building. It’s the people who bring it to life.

Here’s to 56 years of teamwork, memories, moments and keeping the curtain up. ❤️🎭
