Tips from Behind The Bar: Week 4

Here’s something we see come up at private events more than you’d think.

“It’s just a private party, we don’t need to worry about ID’ing people, right?” Wrong!

In Saskatchewan, the legal drinking age is 19, and that law doesn’t take the night off just because the event is private. Backyard, rented hall, private venue, it doesn’t matter. The rules still apply.

As your professional bartending team, we take that seriously. Our bartenders are Serve It Right-certified, they follow the 25-or-under rule, and they will card guests when needed. No exceptions.

Tips From Behind The Bar | Week 2

Let’s talk liability insurance.

Nobody wants to be thinking about lawsuits on what’s supposed to be the best night of their life.

Here’s the thing, as the permit holder (or even just the host), YOU can be held responsible if a guest is injured at your event, or even after they leave. That’s where Party Alcohol Liability insurance comes in.

A few things worth knowing before your event:

* SLGA doesn’t require it to get your SOP permit, but it’s strongly recommended

* Some venues require it, so always check before your event

* No SLGA permit? No problem, you can still get covered as long as no money is being exchanged for alcohol

* Getting a quote is quick and easy through
