My dearest Windsong family and friends. I had thought we could slip quietly into the dark, unnoticed and folks would simply go elsewhere for their live music ... I was wrong. Many of you are asking, and seeking information about what is happening this summer. The truth is it has been difficult to admit that Windsong is over. For 14 years it was "our life" . I was most often the face of Windsong, but Fleur, Forrest, Laurel and Jewel played a huge part in it's existence... Summers were planned around it, life unfolded around and "in" it, and each of them gave me the freedom to dream and create a vision of a music festival where the music was the focus, and fans and artists got up close and personal ... I never saw the end coming, but none of us saw Covid on the horizon. And although we made it to the other side, much has changed. Forrest has finished 4 years studying engineering and Laurel and Jewel start University in September... priorities are shifting, and now is the time for me to go back to teaching and working with youth in need of personal growth and discovery through adventure and wilderness therapy, (my other passion). From my heart I want to thank you for coming year after year, for making Windsong a place of magic and pure joy for me and music fans of all ages... your faces, smiles, hugs and energy are forever burned into my memory for all time, (or until I forget who I am). If you are within the North Bay area, I hope to continue to present live music in the winter months, so please don't erase this page... until the next show, with love, Michael
