A message to our South Okanagan community

All of us — pubs, bakeries, coffee shops, breakfast spots, general stores, wineries, restaurants — placed our food orders and staffed our teams expecting a busy weekend. We prepared the way we always do, with optimism and pride in serving our community.

But the season was cut short.

If you love having local places to gather — if you want your favourite pub, bakery, coffee shop, breakfast spot, winery restaurant, and general store to still be here next year — this is the week to show support. Even one meal, one coffee, one pastry, one glass of wine makes a difference.

Small businesses can’t absorb the loss of an entire week and upcoming weeks alone. Community support is what keeps doors open, staff employed, and local culture alive.

We have donated lots of food to summerland evacuated and continue to do so.

Let’s lift each other up and keep the South Okanagan strong.
