Hey there! I thought I would take Clover's old page out of retirement, and use it to share an event that's near and dear to my heart.

In July of 2019, a few months after shuttering the restaurant, I joined the amazing culinary team at Shopify's head office (that’s on Instagram, if you’re asking). However, a big piece that I thought I would miss after joining a corporate outfit was community outreach and engagement.

This is not the case. In the past few months, I've had the chance to re-establish connections and projects with folks I've worked with (or wanted to). The biggest, an annual fundraiser (with very talented women chefs and food entrepreneurs), to celebrate International Women's Day, has been revived as "Work in Progress", a title I believe so fitting given where we still are.

I hope you can join me, the whole leadership team at Shopify Headquarters (all women!) and 12 of Ottawa's best, at this year's event in my new "home". For more details and ticketing information, please check https://ottawa-swag.myshopify.com/

With our upcoming closure (and this silly weather!), we got to dreaming of summer backyard gatherings with friends.

For our last burger: “The Potluck”. Classic Granny-style macaroni salad (with ham, eggs and pickles), beer mustard, and potato chips (because someone always cops out with a bag), topped off with hotdog, watermelon wedge and a ‘brelly (because, why not?), as always with a 6oz house-ground Enright beef patty and a Plaisirs Gourmands sesame bun.

In May of 2014, we acquired keys to a narrow spot on Bank St., and quietly opened Clover a little over six weeks later with help from some very good friends.

We had a vague idea of how much work it would be opening and running a business, but absolutely no clue about the roller coaster ride that it would be. All in all, an experience we would never trade for anything else. We’ve met, connected and worked with many people we now count as friends. We’ve learned about resilience, patience and perseverance. We’ve learned a lot.

We decided (and continued) from day one to support small, local, independent businesses. We operated like a “mom and mom” shop. We shared what we could with our community.

This April, we will be serving our last diners on the 13th. The decision was not an easy one, given how much we’ve invested, not only financially, but physically, emotionally and mentally.

We want to thank everyone for all the support from the last five years.
It will be a huge change, but we’re looking forward to all the freedom, and some time off...heck, we’re looking forward to being bored.

Until we lock the doors to 155 Bank for the last time, we hope you can join us for a drink, a meal, or even a chat.

Thank you for your support,
West and Danielle

They’re incredible chefs, bakers, business owners and flavour makers. Some established, some coming up; some are partners, some are mothers; but most importantly, all women that have helped elevate Ottawa’s food and beverage scene.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to for presenting everyone.
❤️❤️❤️
Thank you to the artists for making our walls dynamic and beautiful:

Thank you to everyone that came to help us support the Elizabeth Fry Society of Ottawa.
❤️❤️❤️
International Women’s Day was March 8th, though we believe women and our achievements and contributions should be supported and celebrated everyday.
