The Canadian Bar Association is a professional, voluntary organization which was formed in 1896, and incorporated by a Special Act of Parliament on April 15, 1921. Today, the Association represents some 37,000 lawyers, judges, notaries, law teachers, and law students from across Canada. Tonight in Regina, new CBA President Loreley Chekay, K.C., formally received the Chain of Office.

In her speech, she said a reliable justice system is "indispensable public infrastructure" and committed to working collaboratively with CBA branches, sections, and the broader legal community to advance fundamental principles of the rule of law.

Rencontrez Paul Daly, titulaire de la Chaire de recherche universitaire en droit administratif et gouvernance à l'Université d'Ottawa, l'un des conférenciers de la Conférence de l'ABC sur le droit administratif et le droit du travail et de l'emploi, du 20 au 21 novembre, au Fairmont Château Laurier, à Ottawa.

Paul Daly a contribué à façonner la manière dont les tribunaux canadiens abordent le contrôle judiciaire. Ses écrits ont influencé la Cour suprême, notamment dans l'arrêt Vavilov, et son blogue, Administrative Law Matters, a été le tout premier cité par la Cour. Il est l'auteur d'un livre finaliste de prix littéraires et siège à temps partiel au Tribunal de protection de l'environnement du Canada. Meet Paul Daly, University Research Chair in Administrative Law & Governance at the University of Ottawa, one of the speakers joining the CBA Administrative Law, Labour & Employment Law Conference, November 20–21, Fairmont Château Laurier, Ottawa.

Paul Daly has helped shape how Canadian courts approach judicial review. His writing has influenced the Supreme Court, notably in the Vavilov decision, and his blog, Administrative Law Matters, was the first ever cited by the Court. He is the author of an award-nominated book and serves part-time with the Environmental Protection Tribunal of Canada. At the conference, he will speak on Administrative, Labour, and Employment Law in the Building Canada Era.
