Fires have long left their legacy in the arid South Okanagan, claiming many historic buildings such as the “Big Teepee” Hotel in the old Fairview mining town. When the mines ran out of gold, the residents moved down to the young village of Oliver, where a newly built irrigation ditch brought different riches to the parched landscape: agriculture. The town of Oliver still stands, but the fire stati

on siren is often heard screaming across town in the desert air. In recent times, the volunteer firefighters built a modern fire station, leaving the original “Old Firehall” downtown in the heart of Canada’s Wine Capital. It is now the home of our brewery, where we pump out thirst-extinguishing ales with courageous flavour and alarming drinkability. Welcome to the Craft Beer Revolution!

Now that the smoke has cleared, we would like to shout out a THANK YOU to all who collaborated to make the 2026 Smokeshow a blazing, sold-out success! Photographer Gord Gobel took some fantastic photos of the action, capturing the heaping plates of chef creations, the groovin’ antics of the Big Easy Funk Ensemble, the crisp local beverages, the Cask & Keg Steinholding action, the sunshine, the smiling faces, and those epic long tables. And because of the fantastic turnout, Oliver & District Recreation hit its fundraising target for supporting the annual Sunshine Festival! Way to go, Oliver! 🥳 We are welcoming all feedback for the event by email to [email protected], as this community event is continually striving to serve Oliver & District the better each year.

Firehall Brewery and Respect Record and Skate are proud to present... our annual Skoolz Out Party with local band "Waiting On Ron"! This event sells out every year, so get your tickets on our website's events page while you can! firehallbrewery.com/events

Formerly, the “Teacher Band” at South Okanagan Secondary School, Waiting on Ron has a yearly party at the Firehall Brewery that should not be missed. The annual “Skoolz Out” party is the perfect way to announce the start of the summer season in the Okanagan with a bang. Their sound can best be described as feel good acoustic campfire rock with the addition of bit of a country set. The vocal harmonies applied to the songs y’all know will make for a great night.

It's Week #12 of the Spring Season of Tuesday Trivia at Firehall Brewery! Here's the Theme Drop, and the low-down on how this all works!

Every Tuesday, fun-loving folks gather at 6:30pm for 2 rounds of 20 questions each, competing for $10/player in brewery vouchers! The team that accumulates the most points over the season scores $25/player and a spot on the Trivia Trophy! Maximum 4 players per team, and seating is first-come-first-serve.

One of the rounds is general trivia, and one is always themed, with the theme drop happening in advance. Here it is…

Black Sage Butcher is hosting its second charitable Cuts for a Cause Meat Draw here at the Firehall Brewery on Monday, June 15! This event is open to the public, bringing classic meat draw fun along with a 50/50 raffle, with proceeds supporting Oliver’s Venables Theatre!

Doors open at 5:30 pm, with the meat draw kicking off at 6 pm. There will be $500 worth of premium meat prizes to be won across three regular prize rounds, with four chances to win in each round, plus three bonus draws at the end.

Firehall Brewery will feature a Burger + Beer combo for $20, donating $5 from each combo to the Venables Theatre.

2026 Smokeshow (Sunshine Festival) is SOLD OUT! It's going to be an epic day, and we're very excited to see your 250 lovely faces tonight at 6pm. Please keep in mind:

- Dinner service is 6:30-8pm
- BYO plate & cutlery, OR purchase a reusable souvenir plate (prepaid plates can be picked up at the gate)
- Bring your ID
- No pets/bikes inside the festival grounds
- Credit/debit/cash are all accepted for the sale of drink tokens
- Tables are set out for dinner, but the park has lots of space to spread out after dinner for the Big Easy Funk Ensemble performance, so feel free to bring chairs and picnic blankets.

We would like to acknowledge the Oliver Fire Department for their cooperation and special permitting to allow the open fire pit we need for smokin' up all the amazing menu items (you can find the menu on our events page). Thank you OFD for supporting this community initiative! The Smokeshow is the primary fundraiser party for the Sunshine Festival, with proceeds going directly to hosting the free Family Day in the Park this Sunday, June 14th.
