Wednesdays have always been family reunion day around here!!

Whether three generations of family show up (like ours), relatives visiting all the way from Germany coming to play every week they’re in Canada, or teammates who feel like family who choose to see each other every week of the entire summer - all playing this hilarious bean bag game - co****le has a way of bringing people together!! And let’s be honest…the sunshine helps too!!

But now it’s Thursday’s turn.

No league. No registration. No commitment. Just grab your family, your friends, a cold drink and a pizza and head to the patio for an easy going game of co****le.

Can Thursdays become the new family game night at Hub Town? We can’t wait to find out!

It’s no surprise to us that the first Small Town Friday Night of the summer was a hit, with Pocket Dial absolutely rocking the patio!!

Now in Season Five, Small Town Friday Nights have become one of our favourite traditions—live music on the patio every Friday all summer long. And we can’t think of a better band to help us kick off (and wrap up) the season each year…in fact we love these guys so much, it has become tradition!

So go ahead and set that reminder. Join us next Friday, the Friday after that, and every Friday between now and September.

Because summer in a small town is meant to be spent outside—listening to great local musicians, sharing laughs with friends, enjoying a cold pint, dancing when the mood strikes, and making the most of every warm evening while we can.

Summer is short. Let’s make it count!!

Most people see the beer in their glass, but not all the work and sacrifice that happens behind the scenes to get it there. Mark is the steady hand that keeps things moving forward, solving problems, getting things done, and making sure Hub Town can keep doing what it does best…bring people together over a locally made craft beer!

Not just beer. Not just a patio. Not just a place to “go out.”

It’s the people.

Some of these friendships started over a casual pint…some over stories about kids and life…some through building projects, guitars, laughter, hard seasons, great seasons, and “we’ll just stop in for one.”

And somewhere along the way, strangers became regulars…regulars became friends…and friends became family.

When we look around the patio and see faces like these smiling back at us around a fire table, it reminds us why we built this place in the first place. Community like this is rare, and we never take it for granted.

We hope you spent your weekend with people who feel like home to you too.

That’s why we think it’s best you grab your favourite people, head to one of Hub Town’s patios and enjoy a pint in the sunshine while you can!!

Then make sure to stick around for LIVE MUSIC FRIDAY NIGHT from (7pm) and AMATEUR COMEDY SATURDAY NIGHT at “The Loonie Bin” in our upper level taproom (7pm)!

And don’t forget we now have freshly made pizza in house just incase you are feeling hungry while you enjoy a TRULY FRESH AND LOCALLY MADE pint of your favourite beer, glass of your favourite wine (from our friends at City and Country Wine) or even a glass of your favourite cocktail (spirits from our friends at Eau Claire Distillery) - because we LOVE these local gems and supporting them means never losing them!

Whether you’re caving in Costa Rica (with your 4-pack of Berry Manly), sailing in Pensicola, Spain on your way to the Island of Mallorca, snapping a pic after having a pint in Sean’s bar in Ireland (the oldest bar in the world - 1100 years old) or posing for your son’s photo in Germany (where you live), all of you did one thing we couldn’t be more grateful for…you brought us with you!!

To think that when you head out on adventures of this magnitude, that packing Hub Town swag even crosses your mind…that makes us feel pretty damned proud!!

Dear Nate Bargatze,

You have a beer waiting for you on our “Beer It Forward Wall” here at Hub Town Brewing!

And what you don’t know is that YOU are a big part of why we decided to host amateur comedy nights…because you somehow figured out how to be wildly funny without trying too hard, without screaming the loudest, and without making comedy feel mean. Nicely done! You are exactly the kind of comedian we hope grow up on our little stage in Okotoks!!

So if your tour accidentally (or purposely) brings you our way (just 15 minutes south of Calgary), your pint is paid for, because with think comedians do a true public service by trying to make the world laugh and definitely deserves a pint!

Until you stop by (fingers crossed), we will continue hosting “THE LOONIE BIN - Amateur Comedy Night” in our upper level taproom - Next one is THIS SATURDAY, May 23rd at 7pm!!
