The quilting has begun! 💜🧵

One of my favorite parts of the quilting process is watching a quilt come to life under the needle. The piecing is done, the layers are together, and now it's time to add all that beautiful texture.

This quilt is for my newest pattern release, Winterberry, and I can't wait to share the finished reveal with you soon!

I've been a little quiet lately... but for good reason! 💜🧵

Behind the scenes, I've been busy designing, writing patterns, stitching samples, and preparing for a couple of exciting upcoming quilt shows. One of those projects is my newest pattern, *Winterberry*, and I can't wait to share more of it with you soon. For now, here's a little peek at the beautiful fabric pull that inspired the design. 🎄✨

A little happy dance is happening in the Skye Thistle Quilts studio today! 💜

I just packaged up a pattern order that’s heading all the way to Iceland! 🇮🇸

As a small Canadian pattern designer, moments like these never stop amazing me. What started as sketches, fabric pulls, and late-night quilting sessions is now finding its way to quilters around the world.

To everyone who has supported Skye Thistle Quilts by purchasing a pattern, sharing a post, sewing one of my designs, or cheering me on along the way … thank you. It truly means the world.

I’m so excited to be teaching the Strip N’ Dip quilt by GE Designs at Auntie Em's Scrapbooking and Quilting in Cornwall, Ontario on May 30th, 2026 from 10am to 3pm ✨

This pattern is all about playing with 2.5" strips, whether you love a scrappy look or a more coordinated palette, it comes together beautifully with so many layout possibilities. It’s a fun, beginner-friendly project with a big visual impact!

Yesterday was my last day of H+H Americas and WOW… what an experience this has been. 💜💚💜

A few days ago I walked into this show feeling excited, nervous, inspired, and honestly a little like a deer in headlights. Now I’m leaving completely overwhelmed in the best possible way.

I’ve had the opportunity to meet so many incredibly kind, talented, and welcoming people throughout this week. From shop owners, designers, distributors, and industry professionals to fellow makers and quilters! Every conversation left me feeling inspired and even more excited about this creative community we get to be part of.

I came to H+H hoping to learn, make connections, and maybe step a little outside my comfort zone… and somehow I’m leaving with new friendships, exciting opportunities, sore feet, and a ton of photos of quilts and booth displays on my phone. 😂

Truly though, I am so grateful for this experience and for everyone who took the time to chat with me, encourage me, and support my little corner of the quilting world. It meant more than you will ever know. ❤️

Now it’s time to head home, unpack, process everything, rest up, and turn all of this inspiration into new ideas for Skye Thistle Quilts. 💜💚💜

Day one at H+H is officially in the books… and I can confidently say I have now broken my trade show virginity 😂✂️

What an absolutely incredible day. I’m so inspired by everything I’ve seen, completely overjoyed by all the amazing new connections I’ve made, and honestly still trying to process it all.

One of the biggest highlights was seeing my quilts featured in the Mia Presley booth 🥹 💜 Her support truly means the world to me, and getting to experience that in person was such a surreal and special moment.

At some point about an hour into the show, I officially lost my squirrels and all the nuts scattered everywhere 🐿️🥜 Ideas started flying in every direction, my brain turned into creative confetti, and now I just know they’ll all come back to me around 3 AM when I’m trying to sleep. The joys of being a creative 😅

My feet are tired, my heart is full, and I am SO excited for day two. Honestly… who knows what kind of shenanigans tomorrow will bring. 💜

I finally made it to H+H! & WOW did I take the scenic route ✈️💛

Cancelled flight, a surprise night in YUL, a quick stop in YYZ… honestly, it turned into a full North American airport tour. Last night, we sat on the tarmac long enough for me to enjoy a complete drive-in phone theatre experience 🎬😅

It honestly felt like Chicago was playing hard to get and saying “not yet”… but now I’m here. A little tired, very grateful, and so incredibly happy.

I guess some journeys just take the long way and that makes getting here even better. ❤️

Watch out Chicago 😂 I’m ready! 😂

A little break from quilt making and pattern writing led to my latest finish. The Stitch and Stash Tote by knotandthread I’m absolutely obsessed! ✨👜

Bag making is one of my favourite ways to switch gears, and this project was so fun to sew from start to finish. Practical, stylish, and such a satisfying make. Huge shout out to Kaitlyn for creating such an amazing pattern!
