why i’m here

i love the restaurant business.

and i despise it.

those that work in it; know what i mean.

the truth is it’s a volatile industry and as soon as you see a shimmer of success; there’s another obstacle in the way.

such is life.

but it is worth it. those that work in it, know what i mean.

you may have wondered about the little changes we have been making. in truth, BDs is my final act in this type of business. after years of putting service-first, making the kitchen the key to my success, with new obstacles now in front of the business, i decided to make 2019 “my year” in terms of the menu i have created, the music i put on, the DJs I have hired and on and on. some of you may have seen a friend of mine - shaun. he is my right hand, but also a trusted friend of years who reminded me of my history of achievement in this business. and i listened to him when he said...

“...you have lost your smile.”

so i agreed with him that for 2019, we are going to do it “my way,” serve the food i love to make, listen to the songs we love and reflect on; and really give it our all as one last swan song; and whether that lasts 8 months or 60 years, it’s all relative.

it’s about the fun.

so come and join us. come and see the “new” BDs, which is really not new. its just the version that i wanted from the beginning - a cultural hub for families and friends to come and enjoy music with their loved ones, meet new people and enjoy great food.

with all that said, i have been fortunate enough to raise a family in this industry, see the friends i love come & go, and share in this wonderful community that has loved me beyond words. and yes, i have had my successes and setbacks. but i have always remained true to my customers and my community. they mean much so much to me.

so whatever the future of BDs is, we are doing it my way. all the way.

2019. join us. we ain’t playin.
