OUR Masonic club needs US!
With the unfortunate end of summer nearing, it is now time for the 14th year of The Masonic Club to start. We will be opening for the year on Friday, September 11th, 2026 and starting the year off with our annual general meeting and all members are encouraged to attend. I do believe that all current executive members are willing to continue in their roles but if you are interested in a position let me know.
After 13 years in operation the Masonic Club has proved itself to be a true blessing and benefit to both the local fraternity but also to the Moncton Temple. It has been a focal point for local masonic growth bringing in dozens of new masons and creating and strengthening the friendly bonds we have with each other. The Masonic Club has been a vital meeting place for local masons, their friends and family, be it for our regular Friday night events, birthday parties, weddings, work meetings, anniversaries, and many other occasions.
We have been told by many visiting brethren how lucky we are to have such a great facility and that we need to protect it and grow it to the benefit of all. For the past couple years, the Masonic Club had seen a bit of a decline in membership and attendance. Hopefully we can change that and bring it back to its former glory and use. We will endeavor to provide a safe, welcoming, and a positive place for all of us to enjoy but we need your help. We need people to attend, to get involved, to socialize, this only works if we all contribute to keeping this amazing facility active and productive. Many great masons and lifelong friendships have started because of the Masonic Club and I would like to see that continue for years to come. If you are planning to attend on a Friday night please invite others out to join you, the more the merrier.
There are some benefits to attending and becoming a member, not only do you get to enjoy the facility, but you get to socialize in a warm and comfortable location. Since it’s inception in 2013 the annual cost of $100 to be a member has not risen, and the benefits of that membership have stayed the same. Besides the obvious benefit of contributing to the operating cost of the Club and temple you are investing in creating the exact thing that many lodges are missing, a reason to get involved and know each other and strengthen our bonds and commitment to the fraternity. Another benefit of membership is the ability to rent the facility for personal use such as birthday parties, anniversary parties, weddings, reunions, work meetings and much more. We have hosted dozens of personal family events, from one year old to 88 years old birthday parties, beautiful wedding ceremonies, touching anniversary events and many Christmas parties.
I ask you to first please consider attending the Masonic Club on Friday nights (and invite your friends), we need people to attend foremost so that we can create that special feeling when masons and their families get together, the more that we have attend the greater that will be. Secondly, consider becoming a member to help financially with expenses and to keep the Masonic Club viable, make improvements, and add value.
I hope to see your butt in a chair, a drink in your hand, a smile on your face, and joy in your heart while spending precious time with your brothers and friends.
Thank you for your time, Ken Arsenault
