The Building:
The building was purchased by Rob Willson in the Spring of 1998 from Joey Beaton. It was then sold to the Rankins in 2004 and was reopened at the end of May 2005. The Name
Johnny Gillis of North East Mabou, came up with the name 'Red Shoe' as a tribute to Cape Breton fiddler Dan R. After doing some research, former owner Rob Willson realized just how much Dan R. had contributed to th

e music and culture and decided it would be an appropriate name for the pub. Live Music Hours:

Another great week of live music is coming up at the Red Shoe Pub.

Kick things off Thursday with Steak Night and live music from Stephen Poirier. Friday night features Rachel Davis & Darren McMullen, followed by Lisa Cameron & Vern MacDougall on Saturday. On Sunday, join us for an afternoon matinee with John Pellerin & Allan Dewar. Then settle in for Suppertime Tunes Monday through Wednesday with Neil MacDaniel & Kevin Levesconte.

Join us Wednesday evening for traditional Cape Breton music with Kyle MacDonald and Ceila Cameron. Raised in Foot Cape, Kyle MacDonald has been performing Cape Breton fiddle music since childhood and continues to be a familiar face at dances, festivals, and céilidhs across the island. Inverness native Ceila Cameron is an accomplished pianist whose energetic accompaniment and deep roots in the Cape Breton tradition have made her a regular performer at concerts, sessions, and festivals throughout the region.
