There’s been a picture of Dolly Parton and Jimmy Hughes hanging on the wall here at the Twin Cities for years.

Today, it feels a little different. 💔

It’s hard to put into words what made Dolly so damn special. She came from almost nothing and built an extraordinary life, without ever seeming to forget where she came from, or who she was.

She was talented beyond measure, funny, smart, generous, wildly ambitious, unapologetically feminine and completely herself. She proved you could be soft and tough, glamorous and humble, successful and kind, all at the same time.

I loved her story. I loved her spirit. And I loved the way she moved through this world.

We’re pretty proud that a little piece of Dolly history has a home on our wall in Longview.

Rest easy, Dolly. The world was a whole lot brighter with you in it. 🤍
