After a decade, it’s time for me to say goodbye.
Ten years ago, Storm Stayed started with Nate, Michael, and myself as a concept in my living room. Planning and building this brewery was equal parts exciting and incredibly stressful. There were so many unknowns, long days, hard decisions, and moments when I wondered what we had gotten ourselves into.
Then came the soft opening. What started as a business we hoped people would enjoy quickly became something so much more. We opened the doors, met a bunch of new friends, and began building a community that I’ll always be grateful for.
The first couple of years were a whirlwind. We were learning the business as we went—figuring out what worked, what didn’t, and how to keep up with everything that came with running a brewery. It was hectic, exhausting, and incredibly rewarding.
Then the pandemic changed everything. Just when we thought we were getting the hang of things, we had to relearn the business all over again. We adapted, improvised, and found new ways to keep going.
Through all of it, the greatest part has been the people. Along the way, friends became family, and our family grew in ways I never could have imagined. The memories, conversations, celebrations, challenges, and friendships will stay with me long after the doors close.
To everyone who walked through our doors, raised a glass with us, supported us, worked alongside us, or simply became part of the journey, thank you! Truly!
I’m incredibly proud of what we built and even more grateful for the people who helped make it what it became.
As bittersweet as this goodbye is, the brewery will be in good hands with the new management team. I'm looking forward to whatever comes next. Here’s to the next chapter!
