With many years of being a pub, and many owners who have tried their way; The Shire, The Blackshire, & The Last Drop, have been a home and a watering hole for many of you lovely people. It is very depressing and upsetting to be saying this, but we have closed the doors for good.
The management team is very, very sorry, we weren't able to host a last week hurrah for everyone. Due to legal complications, the doors were shut sooner than we expected.
To all the bands, we thank you so much for blessing our stage (both upstairs and down) with your great talent. We have seen some great bands and solo acts throughout the years, and we wish you the best of luck on your road to success.
To the regulars, oh how you made the place glow. With such a diverse crowd ranging from 20 year olds to 60 year olds (Jerry), you guys made this place, a place people can call home. From the familiar faces to the familiar drinks, you all knew and loved each other. Thank you for your many (many) years of dedication. Hopefully one of you rent a condo in the new building and we can come drink there this time!
Last but sure as hell not least, the staff. Whether you're a promoter, server, bartender, security, sound guy or kitchen, you guys were the god damn backbone to this place. You were the face and personality of the bar, and you did a great job doing it!! You knew the regulars better than you knew your own families, & you loved the bands just as much as a crazed fan. You worked long hours, covered each others asses, and gave the boss a receding hairline. But we love you and always will.
So thanks to all of you throughout the years, who have made this place the place to be. The Shire personally thanks each and everyone of you, don't let this be an end to a great group of people. Keep in contact with each other, and party on!
Long Live The Shire!
