Thank you to the Seaside Community Society for your generous donation.
Much appreciated.

Community organizations are strongest when they support one another!

The Seaside Community Society is pleased to make a significant donation to our local Lantzville Legion 257 to assist with much-needed facility repairs and the purchase of equipment for the bar area. For many years, Seaside Community Society was responsible for maintaining Costin Hall. Since we are no longer carrying those maintenance expenses, we have been fortunate to redirect some of those resources back into our community. Supporting the Legion is one way we can help preserve an important gathering place that serves veterans, families, and residents alike.

1945
LIBERATION OF THE NETHERLANDS

In the final months of the Second World War, Canadian forces were given the important and deadly task of liberating the Netherlands from N**i occupation. From September 1944 to April 1945, the First Canadian Army fought German forces on the Scheldt estuary — opening the port of Antwerp for Allied use — and then cleared northern and western Netherlands of Germans, allowing food and other relief to reach millions of desperate people. More than 7,600 Canadian soldiers, sailors and airmen died fighting in the Netherlands. Today, 5 May, Canada is fondly remembered by the Dutch for ending their oppression under the N**is.
