Two characteristics always define our anniversary b**rs; always boozy, always Belgian in nature.

In this our eleventh year, we brewed a Belgian Dark Strong Ale. The special twist this year is the addition of caramelized/stewed dried fruit to the brewing process. The dried fruit was brought back to life by stewing in Tawny Port and brown sugar. The compliment of dark fruit, fortified w**e, and rich molasses sugars provide a deep finishing flavour to this b**r , and bolsters the complex malt bill used in the mash.

We brewed the b**r with a collection of specialty malts from barley grown and harvested in Central Alberta. Together with the specialty Belgian yeast from Escarpment Labs, and some little twists to make it unique, this Anniversary b**r is our way of saying 'thank you' for another great year of Blindman.

Requests for some more up-tempo music have not fallen on deaf ears. Red Deer's the Discmen will be hitting the stage at 7pm on Saturday, September 5 to bring a fantastic day of music to a close. Can't wait to party!

We'll have David Garcia manning the DJ booth from 12-3pm, Flat Iron Jazz Band from 3-5pm, Sean Pinchin from 5-7pm, and The Discmen from 7-9pm.
