π¨ This is the end π¨
This weekend we will be releasing our last beer. Details on that are coming tomorrow.
We've built a great community around our tiny space over the last 5 years. We've made life-long friends and entertained countless folks from other provinces & countries. We can't thank you all enough for the absurd amount of support & love you've shown us but the time has come. We're so sorry to say it, but Tidehouse is closing.
It is with heavy hearts that most businesses announce their closures, but our hearts are good. Maybe a tad sore and a bit beat up, but our hearts are currently functioning just fine. In light of what the world has been through in the last 18 months that's ultimately all that matters. Health+family+friends π
This is an incredibly difficult decision to make. In addition to being completely drained of any energy, beyond burn out, and begging for some degree of work-life balance, our lease is now officially done. We made it 5 years.
Given how it all started, a lot of folks didn't see that happening. Far greater brewers than us have been faced with the same difficult decision of growing or closing, and balancing that decision against what is right for their personal lives & families. We've found ourselves in the same boat. Signing another lease on this tiny space just doesn't make any sense, and we don't have the resources to move & grow.
A huge thanks to the local craft beer industry for putting up with our antics over the years and for lending ears & gear. Thank you to our families that have been patient & supportive while we continually figured things out. We've asked for a lot of help from folks over the years and we're eternally grateful.
Finally, a special thanks to Shannon. Holy hell.
Without her love & support this company would have never started and certainly wouldn't have stayed open as long as it has.
This ruled.
We're done, but we've got one more treat coming. Stay tuned.
All our love,
Peter & Shean
