Well… the Wednesday Weekly Wire is a day late! 😂
We had to get the next dance notice out yesterday, and it literally took me this long to perfect what I wanted to say.
Lots going on… so here we go!
Gotta tell ya… there’s really nothing quite as effective in the singles community as a dance hall full of people you KNOW are all single. 💃🕺❤️
And here’s something we sometimes take for granted…
When you walk into a regular bar, restaurant or public event, you may see a room full of people — but you really have no idea who’s single, who’s attached, who came with someone, and you don't have to search an app to find out..... WHY???? Because at Halifax Singles Dances Everyone Is Single.
You don’t have to walk the room trying to figure out who might be available. You can simply relax, mingle, dance, strike up a conversation and know that the people you’re meeting are singles too.
Just hundreds of local singles, face-to-face, in the same room, talking, laughing, dancing, making new friends — and sometimes meeting someone they never would have crossed paths with otherwise.
There’s no substitute for that.
And remember, we alternate our regular dances between Bedford and Dartmouth, giving singles on both sides of the harbour plenty of opportunities to join us. One dance in Bedford, the next in Dartmouth — and then we do it all over again! 💛

We planned it that way because we didn’t want to interfere with Thanksgiving weekend the following week.
We know Thanksgiving weekend is often filled with family dinners, travel and holiday plans, so we decided to give you your Halifax Singles Dances fix the weekend before instead!
So… Dartmouth on September 26, Bedford on October 3 — two chances in eight days to get out, meet new people and maybe make a connection. 💛

By then, Christmas will be just around the corner — the decorations will be going up, the holiday parties will be starting, and everyone will be getting into that festive frame of mind.
So before the December rush really begins, we’re giving Dartmouth one more big night to get out, dance, mingle and meet other local singles face-to-face.
And after seeing how our Dartmouth crowds have been growing lately, we have a feeling this could be a VERY fun way to head into the Christmas season. 💃🕺🎄

Our Christmas Dance is always our second biggest dance of the entire year — and honestly, there’s just something about this night that feels different. ❤️
Maybe it’s the Christmas spirit.
Maybe it’s the music, the decorations, the lights, the laughter and the way everyone seems to arrive in just a little bit happier mood.
There’s a certain hope and joy that comes with the season — that feeling that maybe something good is just around the corner.
And when you put hundreds of local singles together in one room at Christmas, that feeling seems even stronger.
People are smiling more. Talking more. Laughing more. Dancing more.
There’s a warmth in the room that’s hard to describe unless you’ve been there.
For some, Christmas is about family. For others, it can also be a time when you really notice that you’d like someone special in your life.
And maybe that’s why this dance has always been such a big one for us.
And who knows?

🥂✨ NEW YEAR’S DAY — 3RD ANNUAL SINGLES LEVEE ✨🥂
Now THIS one has a story behind it.
To our knowledge, never before has there been a New Year’s Day Levee in Canada devoted entirely to singles — and this January 1st, we’ll be doing it for the THIRD year in a row!
And apparently, New Year’s Day is a pretty good day for romance. ❤️
We know of at least 12 couples who met at our first two Singles Levees — and those are only the ones who told us!
Twelve couples. Two Levees.
Who knows what might happen at number three? 👀
There’s something pretty special about starting a brand-new year in a room full of local singles, meeting new people face-to-face and wondering if the person you’re chatting with might just become part of your 2027 story.

When I decided to restart the Singles Dances, never in a million years did I think I’d still be doing this three years later.
My plan was maybe a year. I’d give it a try, see how things went…and go from there.
Well… Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island — you certainly let me know you wanted this.
You told me you were tired of online dating.
You wanted in-person connections.
You wanted somewhere to go where you could meet other singles face-to-face, make friends, socialize, dance and simply get out of the house.
And over these past three years, I can’t even begin to count the number of people — of all ages — who have messaged me, stopped me on the street or come up to me at one of the dances just to say thank you.
Thank you for the friends they’ve made.
Thank you for giving them somewhere to go.
Thank you for helping them get out of the house and back among people again.
And, of course, there have been plenty of romances along the way too. ❤️
We’re now three years in.
